Wow, with the 30% rule, the 4 minutes he played last night could result in him not being eligible for a redshirt.

10/32 = 31.25%

9/32 = 28.125%

Hope it was worth it!

He would probably be OK because of the round up rule. 30% of 32 is 9.6 and everything rounds up to the next whole number.

The old method counted quarters and halves. He would have also been OK under the old rules at 9 1/2 because I don't think that he played in the 2nd half.

I hope he does redshirt. I would like to have him 100% healthy all of next year rather than 50% healthy the rest of this year. Even if his ankle and knee were 100% right now it would take him a long time to get back in game shape and even longer to get his shot back.

I'm in the "Does it really matter who transfers, redshirts, goes to the NBA, or quits anymore?" category. There are many paths to mediocrity. We've covered them all.

It'd be nice to not have to bring in yet another JUCO to replace Craig. If Gilstrap got another year and we could stave off the rumored defections that could set us up nice for next year. Give Ejim and Railey a season to get acclimated.

Any talk of Gilstrap's extra year is ridiculous. Do you think he is going to stay when Craig leaves? I don't.

If it doesn't matter to you, then why even open the thread. Maybe you could just go join the Hawkeyes in their complete disregard of anything basketball so others can actually discuss this team without having to deal with your whining.

Why? Its not like they are lifelong best friends or something. Besides, nothing would help MGs draft stock more than another year of seasoning and a year as the clear cut #1 option offensively.
