1. ISU Gateway project will begin. Won't include bowling in the endzone, but will be a significant change to how the outside of the stadium and entrance to ISU looks.
2. New volleyball/wrestling facility
3. DSM is getting Men's NCAA basketball tournament - hosted by ISU
4. Garth Brooks farewell tour will stop in Ames
5. Bird in a blender logo returns
6. Royce White donated all of his NBA earnings to ISU to fund white helmets and will be new OC for football
7. Due to kids having so much fun sliding down the hills on Saturday, they will install a slide on each hillside.

Hockey is going D-1

Now that the Iowa Wild are occupying The Well, bringing hockey to varsity status has become a far more expensive proposition. That promotion will require either a new hockey arena, or re-modeling Hilton to include hockey - it's currently not built to be a hockey venue. In addition, a state-of-the-art hockey training/practice facility will need to be built. Lots and lots of money required, and not a whole lot of support among ISU's sugar daddies.

exactly right. with MN having 5 D1 programs in a state with one D1 football program we'd be setting ourselves up for recruiting failure. D1 hockey would be a foolish move for any school in a state without a well constructed junior hockey league set up.

Lets look at reality though - if nothing is done, season tickets go down because interest is lost in this program after a 2-10 season. If they build SEZ now, interest will rise, and season tickets won't have such a downfall.

Lets look at reality though - if nothing is done, season tickets go down because interest is lost in this program after a 2-10 season. If they build SEZ now, interest will rise, and season tickets won't have such a downfall.

10% decrease in season ticket prices next year for any ticket that was scanned on Saturday.

From a probable lower attendance perspective, the seats lost from construction on the south end would make the timing appropriate. More butts on the sides.
