Garza well on his way to being a consensus AA. Very nice! Most decorated player in the state's history.
In an era when good big men go pro after their freshman or soph. season. Playing against young, marginal talent has its perks.

Ronnie Lester says hi.

Even the great Lester wasn't as decorated as Garza is at the moment. Lester never made 1st team AA or won any national player of the year awards or named Big 10 player of the year. Of course, no one else in the state has ever done that before either besides Garza.

Carey was 2nd team. No doubt the postseason cancelation helped Garza and hurt others
Ya. He had only scored 20+ in 16 straight. 9 of those games against ranked teams I believe. If Garza was a Cyclone you'd have a bronze bust of him on your mantle already.........or maybe you do anyway

And Iowa still faded down the stretch and were only going to play two more games both of which would have been losses and crushed his stock
