The statements you make are full of assumptions that you likely don’t have any information to back up and some outright falsehoods.

No, I didn't make any assumptions other than assuming what other people have said is true. If he acts the way that this thread describes, which no one has given reason to doubt, it has been going on for awhile and hasn't been stopped which falls on BF.

Complaining at refs and generally being loud and obnoxious is one thing. This thread describes something beyond that and if the things said in this thread are true as far as what he says and does, it needs to be handled. I have zero patience for ****** parents and I'm not the only one. There's a reason no one can find coaches or refs for youth sports and this kind of stuff sets the tone.

Lol you all act like this a new thing bill and jamie aren’t aware of. Everyone has known about this for years and it’s not changing now.
I think if he was berating the staff over something they have no control over that might be a change. When he is making a fool of himself over the game that is one thing but it sounds like he took it another step yesterday.

The last sentence is 100% a thing. I know people who will NEVER coach or ref again because of people like this. Most of them are doing it to be nice and make sure games get played for the kids, but they don't make enough money to have to put up with the abuse of these parents.

I've coached youth sports for years (up through 6th grade basketball - finally done now though), and you'd be amazed at what you have to put up with.. .and this is a volunteer position as no one else would do it, so i'm doing it just so the kids can even have a team.

His Tweet last night about why they couldn't play just solidifies himself as a total nutcase.

We already knew that though, I dont follow women's basketball at all but I saw it on full display during the tourney last year that he belongs in a mental institution.

I understand wanting to lock this thread, but this needs to be said and addressed and people need to bring this behavior to light. It's not right and not fair to others. Maybe if he sees this thread, he can see that others are "worried" for him and he needs to do some very big self-reflection ... guessing his personality will make that impossible, but I'm hoping he can change.
Yes, people like him have their opinions swayed by anonymous online comments all the time.

Stop excusing abusive behavior. Even if nothing changes, it's useful to point out that the people who have the power to do something about it apparently won't, and the vast majority of fans actually do care about it.

The father of one of the best players on our local high school boys team is very loud and often over the top with the refs. Well, he got removed during a game a couple weeks ago and that seems to have solved the problem. I love the Joens girls, but if their dad has to endure the humiliation of being escorted from his seat and out of Hilton it will probably only need to happen once.

Apparently being kicked out of Carver hasn't stopped him from going back there, so I don't think this will work.

Brian Joens is a problem and is making a mockery of this program. I was one section over from where parents sit. He looked manic. Heckled, cursed and yelled insults the entire game. Was not supporting the team it was obvious he was only there to make a scene. This is also directly in front of the press table. He should have been asked to leave. As a man, I understand not wanting to make a scene with someone like that but it’s embarrassing to the program.

I thought they sat near the top of section 112 or 111.

I was very aware of him last year, particularly during the post-season, but haven't noticed him this year. And this year, I usually sit about 2/3 of the way up in Section 111. There are a lot of ref-haters near us Section 111, so maybe he just blended in. Last night, we sat in the balcony just above Section 112 and I didn't notice him.

He already got kicked out of Carver, so I don't think once will do it.

Additionally, in high school, those kids don't really have a choice to go anywhere else (except a private school). So there is no risk of losing the player. In college, they could just quit the team and transfer after the season and play right away next year.

Unless the guy assaults a ref or a fan, the AD probably won't do anything about it. But that shouldn't stop people from calling him out on it so that he may, hopefully, face consequences down the road.
