First of all, thanks for the credits. I go a little crazy some times thinking I know it all, and... well, you know. Also, thanks for making sure there is
CF apparrel available in the larger sizes, it sometimes gets frustrating trying to find clothes in my size.
Anyway, the main reason I'm writing this is to initiate conversations about fund-raisers. I don't know for sure, but imagine that you don't have a lot of free time on your hands and you want to be very selective in any kind of fund-raiser you endorse or tie the
CF name/logo to.
As a source that enables literally thousands of Cyclone fans to interact daily, I can't think of many better alternatives for contacting our loyal brothers and sisters about fun ways to raise money and hang out with others who are as anxious to see our athletics take the next step. I've been a die-hard for decades and understand the frustrations of trying to compete with the "big boys" when the playing field isn't all that level. It's like we're taking a pellet gun on a bear hunt.
I am very serious about doing anything I can to help the cause. I have the will and the desire, you have the means to get other people excited and involved. In this day and age, there aren't a lot of things I'm passionate about anymore, but
ISU never has and never will be secondary to me. I've got too many years and too many tears invested in them already.
To get to the point, I think there are a ton of opportunities out there to raise money and interest in
ISU. I know that this is
JP's job and he's doing well, but I also know that he could use the help. I would be proud to assisst on any or all fund-raising activities that you/we could come up with in the future. You've done so much for the Cylone family already, I thought you might be interested in yet another endeavor.
I have numerous ideas about fund-raising that I'd like to share when/if you have the time to go over them. I live close to Ames and, due to downsizing at my previous employer, am going to school again and have a fairly flexible schedule.
If you have any interest in anything I've said, please let me know, I'd like to run some ideas by you and anyone else that might want to listen and/or help. If I don't hear from you in the next couple of weeks, I'll assume that you're too busy or not interested and won't bother you anymore.
Again, thanks, you're doing a hell of a job!!
