    ISU to the Big East?

Well sure, but none of the CUSA candidates are academic powerhouses. Out of the 4 most common candidates (UCF, Memphis, East Carolina, Houston), only UCF is Tier 3. I don't know, the bribe just seems wrong. But nothing in this expansion has been right. Tradition, prestige, attendance, academics...

    ISU to the Big East?

Memphis makes the most sense as far as losing a basketball powerhouse (Kansas) and replacing them with a basketball powerhouse. Plus they make more sense geographically for an East/West configuration. With UCF you'll have to grab Pitt/WV or one of UCF/USF and put them in the West. Neither would...

    ISU to the Big East?

I'm sure. We've played in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New Jersey, and Connecticut in November/December. Last year we played UCONN in the snow. We've also played a few teams at home in the Midwest -- Kansas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Houston, TCU, etc.

Tune into ABC 5 tonight at 10

The Big East contract was signed around the last set of expansions. The Big East had absolutely no leverage back then to demand anything. We basically took what ESPN gave us. Our contract will be better the next time around, regardless if expansion occurs or not because we've shown to be worth...

    ISU to the Big East?

Look at us, USF. We're down here with our closest conference mate over 14 hours away by car. We opened in 1956 and you guys opened in 1858. You started football in 1892 and we started in 1997. If we can make it work, you guys can too. In this proposed scenario you'd have 4-6 teams within driving...

    ISU to the Big East?

The feeling I've gotten from reading the quotes from past and present commissioners and message boards is this -- all three of those teams are pretty much last resorts to stop our conference from dissolving. They are always going to be available so they saw no rush in inviting them. Both...

UT, 3 others going to Pac-10

You don't play your entire conference in football but still manage to crown a champion. It can be done... basketball is no different. You're coming to the Big East or I'll drive up there and bring you here myself.

Big East writer refutes ISU rumor

Sorry, I deleted the post after I realized Chris made a new thread and threw my post into the big ISU to the Big East thread so it can hit 1000. But I will do it if you don't join. Book it.

    ISU to the Big East?

I know 20 Olympic sports teams seems ungodly huge, but it will be a huge boon when it comes time to start a network. Networks like live products to show. It's the same reason that the Big 10 wants to expand. They want more inventory because they get more money from live broadcasts. Replaying...

    ISU to the Big East?

Yeah I got a little ahead of myself. Not realizing that Boise joining the MWC might in fact mean the MWC is expecting to lose Utah, in which case they would have three spots open to go to 12. If Utah doesn't leave then they still have two spots for say KU and KSU. KU and KSU might find that more...

    ISU to the Big East?

This is great news for Big East fans. It could mean that the four Big 12 schools said "thanks but no thanks."

    ISU to the Big East?

That's the expansion board that was created so other schools' fans could talk about getting invited to the Big East. It always dissolves into a ******* match between schools. That thread was created by a UCF poster and they see you as a threat for them to get invited into a BCS conference. Here...

    ISU to the Big East?

USF fan here and I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. First, I'm super stoked at the idea of getting KU, KSU, ISU, and MU. I've had a boner since I read the tweets and the article which seems to insinuate that everyone in the Big East is on board too. Don't know if I can say boner here but I...
