If that's the final list I like our chances.
You'd think if his issues with UM were solved
they'd have a verbal.

Re: Joe Coleman official visit list
I think the three now is calculated. He's giving himself the option of one more official visit if a powerhouse team makes a late charge. I like that we're the last team, though.
It's really tough to understand the U of MN situation. The U of MN fumbled his scholarship offer...Joe thought he had an offer from the U of MN, then went and told a lot of people. Turns out, the U of MN didn't think they had offered him yet, and let him know. They later offered him, but some feelings were hurt. Tough to know if that's playing into this situation.
Also, Joe's older brother (Dan Coleman) played for the U of MN, but only after transferring from Boston College. So there is precedent for leaving home in the family.

Well, if you are a kid from the Twin Cities and you want the best combination of being away from home, parents still close enough to come to games, and playing basketball in a major conference, you can't really beat ISU. Wisconsin would be the next closest, but that's about another two hours worth of driving for ma and pa.

How many scholarships do we have left to offer in 2011? Is it just one?

Not that it matters, he doesn't seem to be considering them...

Maybe, but maximum speed limit in Wisconsin is 65 mph, and it's strictly enforced. That has to count for something "It's just another gym" -- Jamaal Tinsley, on playing at Phog Allen Fieldhouse -

Looks like the staff is giving most of the attention for 2011 to McGee, Coleman, Tharpe, Goff, and Sledge with McGee possibly being the #1 target now. Are there others?

Ames is 220 miles from St Paul, Madison is 260 miles. For some reason I didn't think Madison was that far from St Paul.

I am just splitting hairs here but...isn't Coleman from Hopkins? That would be closer yet to Ames than Madison. 216 compared to 279 miles. Those extra miles should seal the deal.
