Royce White's strength
This is via the CycloneMBB Twitter:
Cyclone newcomer Royce White had one of the strongest bench press test outs in mbb history. White benched 185 pounds 22 times. The next closest Cyclone had 14 reps.

Re: Royce White's strength
Honestly that's impressive, especially for somebody with such long arms.

Re: Royce White's strength
14 was our best? Wow, that's kind of shocking.

Wonder who had 14? Ejim? Godfrey?

Wonder who had 14? Ejim? Godfrey? I kind of read it as the next closest ever was 14 reps, not next closest on the current roster, which would be shocking. After I read it again, I guess it could be interpreted both ways.

Re: Royce White's strength
Gotta be next closest on the team.
Heck...I can do 185 for 14 reps.

Re: Royce White's strength
Here are the numbers from last year's NBA combine, making Royce's 22 even more impressive: NBA Draft Combine: Athleticism Test Results | NBADraft.net
Some notables:
Cole Aldrich- 10
Craig Brackens- 6
Trevor Booker/ Derrick Character - 22
Luke Harangody- 23 (this is the most impressive one to me).
23 was the highest total from last year's draft combine, with the average being 11.37. That makes Royce's total pretty damn impressive.

If the next best ever was 14, White would have by far the best ever.
Bet Fizer and Kantrail Horton were ahead of him. Nice to have a strong big man inside again!

Re: Royce White's strength
If my memory is correct, RW benched 185 either 21 or 22 more times than Jiri Hubalek :)

Bet Fizer and Kantrail Horton were ahead of him. Nice to have a strong big man inside again! I remember quite clearly that, in those years, Eustachy used to love mentioning that Stevie Johnson blew everyone else on the team out of the water in bench press.

Re: Royce White's strength
Sounds like a good story for CW to work on! Find out who had the 14 and what were the other all-time bests bench presses...

Re: Royce White's strength
This seems good, but the strongest player that I can remember was Curtis Stinson. I thought he could rep 225 about 10 times. I remember hearing that he was stronger than Homan. A primary reason why he was the best rebounding guard that I can remember.
