Starters for Friday vs. Dubuque
From ISU Mens Basketball Facebook
"It isn't official, but it looks like Coach Hoiberg is leaning toward starting Diante Garrett, Scott Christopherson, Darion "Jake" Anderson, Melvin Ejim and Jamie Vanderbeken in Iowa State's exhibition game vs. Dubuque Friday night."

3 guard lineup? I like, I love, I want some more of it.

Gotta get that up-tempo going!

Should be entertaining to watch for sure, if we get some 3's to fall, look out.

So does this mean that Phillips was kind of a bust or Anderson is way better than we expected him to be?

I like this lineup and have thought it would end up like this since the summer. We will not play with 3 guards all the time and will transition to a more natural 2 guard lineup probably about 1/2 the time. When playing with 2 guards, Ejim will play his natural SF and one of the other bigs will have to contribute: White, Godfrey, McKnight. In order to get JVB a breather Railey must be able to contribute minutes too.
The big wildcard is Royce White and if he is ruled eligible. I predicted this lineup because I thought White would not be able to play. Given that the season is almost here and we still haven't heard gives me some hope that I'm wrong. At least we don't have that much longer to wait.

Rebounding 'might' be a problem this year... -
Re: Starters for Friday vs. Dubuque
Would White be eligible to play in the exhibition games and have to sit out the regular season or do the NCAA transfer rules apply to all games during the season?

oh. ok. Well that sucks that he broke his hand. my bad

Re: Starters for Friday vs. Dubuque
One positive, at least for this board is with DP breaking his hand
Bubu will get some minutes early and we'll actually have a reference point on his playing abilities.

Re: Starters for Friday vs. Dubuque
Ejim has been practicing the "Dougie" for several days now.
As long as all of our guards average 8 rebs per game, we'll probably out rebound a couple of teams.
