ESPN MBB preview

I don't know if this has been posted, i looked but did not find anything, so if it has....

I got my latest ESPN the mag and it was the annual "we love Duke" issue otherwise known as the NCAA MBB preview issue. I quickly turned to the Big 12 page (yes one page) and saw next to nothing about ISU. They has some dumb bit on the side of the page where they ask a player about his views on each team in the Big 12 and he mentione that when he things of ISU he thinks of Hoiberg playing for the Bulls.

This is not what caught my ire. Down at the bottom of the page it has some poll results and ISU won the "quietest arena" catagory with approx. 30% of the vote. Man that is just flat embarassing considering what Hilton magic was when I was at school. Of course that was when Hoiberg was still rocking the ISU uni too. Here is hoping that this changes quickly under the current staff. Just so very wrong!

This just shows how pathetic we have become! I can't wait for Freddy to turn things around so we can become the LOUDEST arena in the Big 12.

How is that possible? CU and NU's crowds are like the crowds watching high school tennis matches in rural Wyoming. They don't understand what they are watching and are only there because they know someone on the team.

I clearly remember hearing ISU student section on the radio doing cheers in a game at Lincoln and I also remember a recent game at CU that was televised that seemed to have only a couple hundred people in the seats in the lower part of the arena (empty seats outnumbered the occupied seats by at least 4 to 1).

KU fans would say that we are loud because we are booing every call.

Maybe the poll was for next year's B12 teams??

Was Colorado still listed as an option?

maybe it was a jab at the arena being flooded, hence nobody would be in it

ESPN the Mag assumes people will read ESPN.com for the actual team by team previews. So, all of their preview issues are lame.

Their NFL preview had something like 4 pages of actual season preview, and a 12 page article on what plays work in specific situations with statistical breakdown. I made it about 4 paragraphs before I was bored with the 12 page article.
