That Stinson-Blalock-Clark play was absolutely filthy. I strained a shoulder from jumping around after that one.

Taking my 8 yr old son with me so he can finally experience TRUE HILTON MAGIC! Can't wait for Fred's first official game at the helm.
Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:

It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town' -

Hopefully Fred and Company get a big, loud crowd for his first official game.

My guess is that the athletic department will report 13,300 (or something in the 13,000s), but there will only be between 10,000 and 11,000 in attendance.
Most probably haven't tracked this as closely as I have, but the reason our attendance has stayed strong in the Jamie Pollard era is that we changed our attendance reporting from actual attendance (i.e. butts in the seats) to tickets sold. The Athletic Dept. counts all those empty and unused student tickets which leave vast spaces of emptiness behind the baskets. However, interestingly, they only do this for non-conference games. Once conference season rolls around the attendance drops to actual attendance (my guess is that the Big XII has a policy requiring actual attendance, but that's just my best guess).
P.S. I'm a fan of Pollard and think he's done a good job. Just wanted to point out the change in attendance policy since he took over from Van de Velde.

Actually, a huge part of it is the fact that pollard has increased the number of season tickets sold by quite a bit, so that those do count towards 'tickets sold'.
Almost everyone counts attendance by tickets sold + 'free' tickets (band, officials, etc) nowadays.

Re: ***Offical ISU vs Northern Arizona Gameday Thread***
Can't wait! These next to hours need to go by faster.
I'm so glad I got to be a student here for both the start of the Rhoads era and the Hoiberg era. I have a feeling that these guys are going to be here a long time, and have a lot of success.
Go State!
