    One big concern so far...

...is that through 2 games, I don't think I've seen a set post play or real effort to get it down low....outside of maybe 1 or 2 times. Sure JVB and Ejim and others have gotten some put backs in the paint, but I we show zero interest in feeding our bigs.

The high pick and roll or pick and pop works....to a point. I don't see this being quite as successful when playing BIG 12 foes or even instate teams. Especially when teams pick up our guards and overplay the wings.

Ham and or even Dendy would be huge right now...oh course so would White.

Yeah, we haven't done much of that yet.

Maybe not showing a ton, maybe just that we don't have developed post players for that. I think our emphasis right now is on spacing and driving to score down low.

Good or bad, that's what I think I see right now.

And who would you suggest we feed it to in the post?

JVB is Jake Sullivan in a 6'11" body. He is not a post player.

Railey is just getting his feet wet right now. Ditto for Godfrey... plus Godfrey isn't really a polished offensive post player... he's more of a hustle, rebound, block shots, and putback kinda player.

I do think that if Ejim plays some 3 during the year, he might post up some of his defenders though?

I've never understood why DG hasn't perfected this more with his height for a PG? DG's like 6'4". He should easily be able to post up some 6' guards he faces on some nights.

But in all reality, we don't really have a good post player to feed right now.

Why would we want to get it low? We have no one inside.

Yeah i think post presence is going to be a concern all year.

If we are to win against Big XII opponents, its going to have to be defense + a spacing/ drive - dish - perimeter game.

Can't wait to get White and Booker down low next year. I'm very interested to see how the playing time shakes out.

Jake Anderson is better than I thought he was going to be. He is a player. So its really too bad we dont have a solid center. I think this team could be a real pleasant surprise if we did. Who knows, they might surprise in spite of that. We'll see.....

Agreed...but some like most games...teams try to get you to be one-dimentional. I realize we are, but we should effort that we aren't.

Maybe we will...but unless we are loaded and deep in the backcourt and can play and win 15ft and out...teams will scheme and do just about everything to take that away.

Again - I agree we have no one of polished substance down low...we are young, green and vastly undersized.

Let me see if I understand this...You admit that we don't have a true big that plays down low (Ham or even Dendy...), and wonder why we aren't feeding it down low?

I'm excited about Railey. Haven't seen much of what he can do yet though.

I was surprised by that dribble-drive towards the end of the game. I don't expect him to do that all the time, but he looked more agile doing that than I expected.

I know it won't work all the time, but Fred's obsession w/ spacing should help this - big men can't just camp down low if the 15' shot is open... and we hit it consistently. I think we have to force them out of the post w/ this, to sneak it in.

There's lots of ways to compensate - speed, spacing, passing, defense, transition game, great shooting... won't always work I know. But we have no choice this year.

We have a true bigs...Railey and Godfrey. Both are young and lack the true 4 or 5 size -right now. Godfrey is close though.

Look...if we are going to play Alabama St and N. AZ...why not try to establish them early, gain some confidence...before throwing them at KU, KSU and UT.

Again, they still may....but through 2 games, they haven't.

I don't think this team is one-dimensional. I also don't think they play "15 ft and out". The guards have shown a lot of ability to take the ball to the hoop, and either finish or kick it out. Drive and dish is a 2 dimensional play (layup or 3 pointer), and that's going to be our bread and butter this year.
