Wells Fargo isn't the greatest agreed.
Still dont get why anyone could have possibly thought anything bad about that win. It was the perfect type of win to help introduce Fred as our coach.
We hit the same amount of threes as they did..just sayin.

I am so glad (and proud), though, that our guys kept battling until we did have a lead, and then all the way to the end. Very impressive to see that kind of heart and determination.

My only atmosphere complaint was banging my knees on the back of the seat in front of me all game.

I learned how to measure that distance pretty quickly.

I learned how to measure that distance pretty quickly. We were in one of the lower level corners and I was sure I'd have bruises on my knees from all the times I jumped out of my seat.

Re: WFA, Band, Cheerleaders = Bad
We thought the band and fans were great. The lack of on-going individual and team stats on the scoreboard were significant - we really missed them - hard to imagine a venue like the well without them. Also, the leg room (or lack of it) between rows is a nasty - just underscores how nice we have it at Hilton.

Yeah I will agree with that. I didn't think we hit near as many threes until I looked at the stats and it felt like they hit a million.

Re: WFA, Band, Cheerleaders = Bad
Had never been to the Well before yesterday. It's a nice arena, but I think I prefer Hilton or Qwest (only other places I've seen a CBB game). The lack of player scores/fouls on the videoboard was awful. My biggest complaint about yesterday. Concessions were terrible too. My dad and I left to get something with 43 minutes left on the clock before tip-off, stopped at the restroom and the concession stand, and got back to our seats with 18 minutes 'til tip-off. Ridiculous.
I nearly fell back down the steps when we got to our section up in the upper level. The drop from the end of the tunnel things is terrifying for somebody afraid of heights. Leg-room was pretty bad too.
Section 307 was pretty quiet the whole game, but when The Shot went in I couldn't hear myself yelling despite the fact that I've never yelled louder in my life. Just an incredible moment.
Also, ISU pep band >>>>> CU pep band.

I learned how to measure that distance pretty quickly. Yeah, we were 303 B, and my jumping up and down was more of a controlled excitement/ this play was great but I don't want to fall to my death kind of jumping up and down.

Re: WFA, Band, Cheerleaders = Bad
Atmosphere, bands, and fans aside, did we make any more money playing the game in Des Moines than we would have playing in Hilton? There were just over 10,000 tickets sold, and in my mind, given the Welcome Back Greg thing, it's a no brainer that there would have been 13-14,000 had the game been played in Hilton, even with the students officially gone. If JP does this on a regular basis, make it part of the season ticket package. I'm sure there's a way to make the large donors happy with equal seating at the well.

Well, considering the game only existed to take advantage of a rules loophole that let them add more home games, I'd imagine they came out ahead.

Re: WFA, Band, Cheerleaders = Bad
I love the neutral site thing. It gives the guys a chance to experience that environment in a game that deserved it.
They'll use this as a building-block that they couldn't have had with a normal home game.
I also like having this at Wells Fargo over break.

Re: WFA, Band, Cheerleaders = Bad
This was my first trip to WFA as well.
My take...
I was impressed with the venue overall. It looked very nice and was bigger than I imagined. The videoboards looked great, but the lack of stats was absolutely terrible.
My family got concessions before the game from the chicken place (don't remember the name). It took probably 20 minutes once they ordered to get everything right. Apparently the computer systems weren't working nor were the fountain drinks...
I thought Creighton fans were loud throughout, but we were also sitting behind the south basket closer to most of them. ISU fans weren't very loud until we came back from being 12 down in the 2nd half. Then it was very loud. Creighton fans gave me a reason to root against them in the future. Very annoying when they were losing. Lots of complaining/excuse-making. Typical Husker fans.
Couldn't really tell a difference between the ISU band or the CU band. Our seats were behind the CU band.
It really seemed like the game was a 1st/2nd round NCAA Tournament game. Awesome experience overall, and I would definitely support future games at WFA, especially during school breaks.

Could you explain about the loophole? I'm not much in the loop about things like that. I can see the argument for a neutral site, but still feel they could make it part of the season ticket package, since it's not exactly a neutral site in St. Louis.
