Re: Iowa State vs North Carolina next year?

Dammit, why the hell can't Jamie try to get some of these marquee games AT HOME! IN HILTON!

Do we have to surrender any semblance of a homefield advantage in order to get a prime-time team to play us away from their home court? Duke in Chicago, and now North Carolina in Des Moines?

Here's a thought, if we're gonna schedule all the GOOD games at venues other than Hilton, let's just mothball Hilton and play ALL our games at Wells Fargo. It might save us a few dollars, right?

(In case you can't tell, I think this is a colossally stupid idea)

Agreed. That was total crap when we did that with Ohio State.

North Carolina vs Iowa in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge? Sounds like Iowa is playing Creighton at Wells Fargo next year.

Oh man! That would be too much like ISU after Baugh & Mack flamed out & left the team. Johnny scheduled a bunch of heavy hitters to play ISU when he thought that the BAM trio were going to be our foundation, and we got creamed in most of the games with Big Vic as the only one of them still on the team.

Probably becfause marquee teams don't want home and homes with teams like Iowa State. Just a hunch.

Iowa can't beat South Dakota State or Long Beach State...all I can do is laugh picturing Iowa against North Carolina.

This is simple in regards to Hilton, there is no way Roy would bring his team to Ames for a game in Hilton, he knows all too well about it. Even though he is madly in love with Fred.

Well, to be honest, we're not exactly in a position to run Roy's Tarheels off the court right now. Barring divine intervention, about the best we would be in a game like this would be a "slight underdog". And that's figuring on NO offseason defections/academic losses/Burger King Incidents, AND a great recruiting class coming in & contributing right away next year.

Not that we wouldn't have a "puncher's chance" at beating them, but the smart money would be on NC in that game.

It did. It was one of Greg Oden's first games back. We had Cory Johnson guarding him, and he did OK (or at least as well as anyone could expect).

This would be next year. The scout team would be in there, and I think they can compete with UNC.
