Royce White's Appeal Denied
Per Bobby LaGesse on Twitter.
No surprise, but still disappointing.
Forever trying to find a cure for the Dunning-Kruger Effect. -

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
That's not unexpected, but really too bad. We've exceeded expectations so far this year and having him added in would be huge to lift expectations from "holding our own" to "doing well" once we hit the Big XII season.

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
Oh well, time to move forward.

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
This tram would be scary good with a post player like White! Unfortunate news.

Dammit............. But not shocked.

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
Darn, but at least we can officially move forward. Hope Royce decides to stick around - we could be special next year!!

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
I'm sure being around this team so far he is not even thinking about leaving. Those guys are the definition of a team, and they feed off each other. It appears the scout team is having fun being around the rest of the guys.

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
Yep, unfortunately Royce White’s NCAA waiver was denied. White is disappointed, but if it’s any consolation he is absolutely tearing it up in practice.
Here's Hoiberg's quote on White:
"He is fully on board in this thing. He is excited about how the team is playing. He is going to continue to take pride in his role this year, which is playing on the scout team - getting our guys prepared to play. They kicked our starters' butts yesterday.
"I can't say enough about how well he has adjusted down here. In the classroom, on the court, he handles his business. He's been a great addition to this team."

He gets to work on his grades. Nothing wrong with that.

Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
This situation is perfect for Royce. He's surrounded by 4 other guys in the same situation. These guys can hang out together all year. They can lean on each other when they get frustrated with not playing. If Royce can't make it here, he wouldn't make it anywhere.
I've watched the redshirts a lot at the games and they always seem pretty into the games. And they are always pretty nice to any little kids that are around.

When Jordan Railey had that tough stretch in the first half, I noticed that two of the redshirts ran out to him in the timeout to offer some confidence and support. That spoke volumes to me about the chemistry this bunch has, and the character of the 'scout team.'
We might be sitting on the edge of something special here. I like it. -
Re: Royce White's Appeal Denied
Alright, does anyone else think it would be awesome to have a student section shirt next year with a 'red shirt' theme.
half mocking NE football blackshirts, half about how awesome those guys will be?
"Blamo"! The new CF approved swear word. -

We might be sitting on the edge of something special here. I like it. And during a timeout in the first half after Railey made those mistakes and was taken out, Jake made a special effort to give him a pat on the back. That's a senior leader.
