Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
I, too, think we lose a close one, here. Our first road test with a lot of new players.
But, I'll be happy if the return to Johnny Orr-like, uptempo, run and gun blasts from the past continue and we thump UNI like we used to!

DG has a big game... I think his experience and leadership really shows in this game.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
I can't predict a score, but I think those putting us in the 60's are off. I really think we win this one going away. I wouldn't be suprised with a 15 point win.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
Northern Iowa will really be looking forward to this game and we'll get their best shot, I hope our guys are ready to play. It'll be nice knowing that our coach isn't best friends with the opponent's coach though. It irritated me when, if we played poorly against UNI, McD would just laugh it off with his 'buddy' aka the opposing coach after the game.

But given the statistics, it is unlikely.

But given the statistics, it is unlikely. What does that have to do with this year? Have you seen our offense this year?

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
UNI wins by 2, refs are usually good for 5-10 point swing @UNI

Ejim puts on a scoring clinic in a close game.
ISU hold's off a stubborn UNI team 81-74

But given the statistics, it is unlikely. They will be scoring a lot of points. ISU by 12.
Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd -

But given the statistics, it is unlikely. You guys also lost some players. UNI of this year isn't UNI of last year.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
Listen, you can choose to get upset if you want, but I'm just pointing out that UNI does not give up a lot of points. This game isn't going to be as high scoring as your other games.
The key for UNI in this game is shooting. If they can shoot well from 3, they will have a chance to win this game. If not, they could be in trouble. UNI is lacking the size that we have had in past years, and will have to rely on hitting outside shots more than we would like to. UNI has struggled offensively in their games so far this year, but did have a good second half against North Dakota on Saturday night.
Also worth noting that UNI has a 17 game home winning streak.
