The key for UNI in this game is shooting. If they can shoot well from 3, they will have a chance to win this game. If not, they could be in trouble. UNI is lacking the size that we have had in past years, and will have to rely on hitting outside shots more than we would like to. UNI has struggled offensively in their games so far this year, but did have a good second half against North Dakota on Saturday night.
Also worth noting that UNI has a 17 game home winning streak. Well, I know I'm not upset, and I would be willing to bet nobody who has replied to your posts are either.
Just a bunch of people pointing out how meaningless it is to point out how long it has been since a UNI opponent has scored 70+.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
I think it'll be a tough game for ISU, but there really isn't a reason for them to not come out with a win. CU hit a ton of 3's against ISU and ISU still won. ISU has the talent advantage. That and you take out the fact that our coach doesn't have a soft spot for the UNI program and you have an ISU victory. It'll probably be a fairly close game as UNI isn't at the level of Drake, but ISU rides out of CF with a perfect 7-0 record.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
Let's see here...
Versus D-1 opponents, UNI scores 58 ppg and gives up 61.7 ppg. They shoot 40% from the field as a team.
ISU scores 85 ppg and gives up 58.7 ppg.
Hoiberg couldn't give a damn about UNI, just another in-state opponent for him to crush.
ISU wins by 29, 87-58.

You are exactly right. Watching McDermott and Erik Crawford chumming it up with Ben Jacobsen and others from UNI before games these last four years was just disgusting. Especially considering the poor results ISU had in those games. Coach Hoiberg understands the in-state rivalry and will have the team prepared. ISU wins 77-64.

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
I had this game down as a loss when the season started. ISU will have its 1st true road game, and they will be tested early. Normally, this game would scare the hell out of me.
Not this time. Not only do I think the Cyclones will win, but I think they are going to win big. I believe Hoiberg wants to send a message to UNI, and that message is simple. Put UNI back where they belong: behind us. Forever. I hope this team comes out and absolutely stomps on their throat.

You guys aren't scoring or giving up points, but you've played a horrendous schedule. Yeah, Syracuse is on there, but so is Coe College. Coe College.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
UNI lost a close game on the road to UW-Milwaukee. Last night, Marquette only beat UWM by 3. I think UNI is going to be a really tough game. Alegbhe (sp?) has shot terribly all year - he'll probably be on fire against us.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
I do not think UNI is very good this year. If ISU had this game at home it would be a 15 pt victory. Since it is on the road I have it chalked up as a loss. I would love a 25 pt whipping against them though.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
Score will be 65-59 Iowa State. Jake Anderson will be the reason Iowa State wins.

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
The team that wins the game will score over 70 points. If UNI tries to slow this team down they will get pounded. Crieghton seemed to do the best thing and tried to run and gun with ISU, they hit their shots and made it a game.
Hoiberg has made it clear he doesn't expect to lose to MVC teams ISU 78-63

Re: Up Next: Northern Iowa/Predictions
As many have already said UNI is not the UNI of last year. This year's team has no inside presence unless you consider O'Rear and Koch an inside presence?? Guard play has been suspect and they have not shot the ball well at all. Very slow too. There is no way they keep up w/ Freddie Ball........ISU will run this team off the court no matter how hard Jacobson tries to slow the game down. Mont. St. tried the same in the first half 3-2 zone and we figured it out and ran away w/ the game. Our spread offense, running game and ball movement allows ISU to prevail.
Been at the past 2 games in Hilton, no way UNI keeps up w/ us.
ISU 77 UNI 55
