Cy call in show
Anyone else here this? I guess Kevin Love called into the Cy call in show "disguised" as Kevin Massey...
I just saw it tweeted...That is pretty cool if it is the same Kevin Love that I am thinking about. T-Wolves player former UCLA Bruin...
I am looking for some audio on it, but the podcast pry won't be avil for a couple days...

Re: Cy call in show
I picked up the show towards the end and there was a t-wolve front office guy (supposedly I guess) who called in from the Gophers game to chat.....I wondered what was going on as they mentioned a t-wolve player had called in to chat, but didn't get the scoop on who it was or anything. Ha, thats classic!

Re: Cy call in show
Yep, he called in and asked if Hoiberg was ready for UNI, if he missed working for the Timberwolves, and who his favorite player was. Hoiberg said it was Darko ;) Love said he had the Iowa State schedule up on his refrigerator, so that's how he knew we were playing UNI. A Timberwolves scout also called in from Minneapolis.
Hoiberg is extremely well respected up in Minneapolis. He must have been on the radio a lot in his role with the Timberwolves because it seems like almost anyone who pays any attention to sports up there knows quite a bit about him.
I think this can't hurt us recruiting wise up there.

Yeah. I had this relayed to me, but apparently Love called in and asked Hoiberg who his favorite Timberwolves player was without saying who he was. Pretty funny. Then wished him luck against Northern Iowa.

I think this can't hurt us recruiting wise up there. This part does not surprise me, as right after we hired him I heard an interview he had with Paul Allen and they seemed to talk like they were pretty good friends.

Yeah, it sounds like Hoiberg and Allen are friends. Allen had Hoiberg on his radio show up in the cities the day or two after he was hired. I'm guessing he's been on there a few more times too.
One of the more classic things on KXNO was a few weeks after Giggles had his giggling fit about Hoiberg. They had Allen on their show for their usual Vikings segment. Giggles asked him what he thought about the Hoiberg hire and if he knew anything about him. He was obviously ready to start laying into the hire again. Of course, Allen knew exactly who Hoiberg was and couldn't stop gushing about him and how great he thought he would do. It was pretty funny because you knew Matt wasn't expecting that reaction AT ALL.

I knew they were good friends when, during the interview, Hoiberg made fun of Allen for having a lot of chins. Pretty funny stuff.

The T-Wolves are talented. Just young. Give 'em two or three years, and this is going to be a very good NBA team. Their big weakness is point guard and bench...and if Ricky Rubio signs next year, they'll have the answer for PG. Their biggest question might be whether Wes Johnson can be a starting SG in the league.

Where does this get podcast?

Re: Cy call in show
Rubio is struggling over in Europe. He hasn't been playing well at all. He really needs a shot if he's going to be an impact NBA player.

Re: Cy call in show
So let me get this straight.....K Love calls in and sort of pranks Hoiberg, but also to give him a show of support along with one of the T-Wolve scouts and this thread gets 12 responses?? Yet some guy I never listen to's radio show gets hundreds of hits each day when he says something you don't agree with?
We must have the most defensive fanbase in the nation.
