I don't think anybody thinks we are going to go 15-0. I was just saying if we did go 15-0.

I believe 10 is the record, at least 10-0 is our best start.
If we sweep this week, we're 8-0. SEMO is roadkill waiting to happen.
That would put us against Iowa looking for 10-0.
The next three (Dartmouth, Chicago State, and Texas Southern) are horrible, so 13-0 would be reasonable at that point.
Virginia is on the road and they are an unpredictable team, so it's crazy to get too worked up for anything there.
NIU stinks, just a pathetic team that thankfully can't use Jake Anderson. That's here in Hilton. Jake might be motivated that night. They get destroyed. 14-1 isn't unreasonable there. At the same time, UNI, Iowa, and Cal could all jump up to get us.
I think our odds of going over the 13.5 over/under for the season are pretty good just in the offseason, but certainly not a guarantee.
Re: Basketball Blog: Reassessing the season
I spilt the kool-aid. I see 2-3 losses in the non-conf yet.
Love the team, love the energy, love the coach. Just being realistic.
Re: Basketball Blog: Reassessing the season
I think in our next two games we either go 2-0 or 0-2. If we get a win at uni I like our chances Saturday. If we lose at uni I think we come back down from all the confidence and don't play as well against Cal.
Re: Basketball Blog: Reassessing the season
It is time to go ALL IN. If ISU goes 40-0, they will be cutting down the nets.
Re: Basketball Blog: Reassessing the season
too many unknowns at this point. "One game at a time" is our reality right now.

5-11 in conference would put us in 10th-11th place in the conference, we wouldnt even be close to the bubble, with as bad as our SOS is we would need at least 8 or 9 conference wins to be talking bubble
Re: Basketball Blog: Reassessing the season
Not sure about the Virginia game, but we should be favored to win all the other nonconference games we play....so I don't think its that crazy to say we could win them all.

Agree, I would think at least 10 wins to get us in.

Unless we blow UNI and Cal out of the water and/or iowa puts up a couple stinkers against WF and whomever else they play before us, iowa will be favored in that game. Probably iowa -2.
We will also be dogs @ Virginia, I would guess in the ISU +5 range, but again there is a lot of bball to be played before those lines come out.
Edit: Thanks for correcting me Yoda

So you expect them to be credited with a loss in a game they don't even play? Cold, man.
Re: Basketball Blog: Reassessing the season
My win total for the season hasn't really changed much. I think they'll get 12 or 13 non-con wins. I still think it will be somewhere between 3 and 5 Big 12 wins.
16 or 17 wins. Maybe 18. So tough to tell still. That's a little higher than I originally had it but not much. This team can get hot so they have the ability to upset some teams in Hilton. They can also get cold and lose a game that they shouldn't.
And no, 20 wins does not get you in the NCAA Tournament anymore.
The NIT is a great goal for this team.

Finishing 8-8 in the BigXII will put us squarely on the bubble. Esp since we will likely have a 22/23 win team. 9 or 10 wins in the BigXII would roughly result in a 6th place conference finish and an 8-10 seed in the big dance. But we are getting way ahead of ourselves.

Must disagree. The NIT is for teams that have no goals.
