And since you brought up Lucca, all he could do was shoot 3's and he couldn't move his feet on defense, yet he started. There is always a place on a team for an excellant 3-point shooter.
The difference between Lucca and Eik was size. Keep in mind Lucca was also one of the worst starters in the Big 12. Eik had no chance on the defensive end or rebounding but I will give you that he could do one thing exceedingly well, shoot.
Wes Eikmeier could have been nice big 12 player. We just didn't have enough time to watch him grow. Not everyone who transferred out of Iowa State wasn't capable to play in Big 12. Some just didn't fit or like our coaches!
I can't believe we are discussing the merits of Wes Eikmeier's game. It's kind of sad, actually. We are better than this. Please realize this program has had guards such as Grayer, Hornacek, Hoiberg, and Tinsley. We are better than Wes Eikmeier.
solid shooter good handle, would most likely take all of Palo and DPs minutes. Seriously I think we'd be better with him subbing for all three starters unless a defensive stopper was needed.
All you shiny objects, pretty stars, crowd keep telling yourself that. How did all those mid major scrubs do against ISU? Yea it really would have sucked if Wes came in and nailed 2-3 3's in a row. Obviously in a conference like the Big 12 you need extreme athletes, but to say there is no room for a Eikmeier or Ogelsby is shortsighted and foolish imo. Also, McDermott definitely could have played in Big 10 or Big 12.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but why are we ok with Wes leaving, but not Wesley Johnson? on 2nd thought, yeah i will hijack this thread, discuss
I'm fine with Wes Johnson leaving. He left Gmac, and I can completely understand wanting to leave that guy.
But I'm sure most people are fine with Eik leaving, because he wasn't good. Johnson was our best player.
