Best compliment I can give - I hate O'Rear
One parting shot at the Panther game.
I hate that O'Rear kid. He doesn't appear to have any attributes that should make him successful. He's just a pain in the *** that makes everything difficult for the opposing team. He knows how to use his mass on offense, defense and rebounding. He knows how to use both his hands and body to foul without getting the call and can both disrupt shots and cause turnovers. He even knows how to run into opposing players when the shot (and the officials' attention) is in the air and try to get their momentum to carry them into one of his teammates resulting in a cheap foul.
I hate that kid. Jacobsen definitely knows how to use him. He is exactly why I stated concern before the game that their experience in the post could be a problem.
Re: Best compliment I can give - I hate O'Rear
I made a coment last year that we needed a guy like Orear. Just a guy with not much basketball talent and annoys the **** out of everyone. Just a pest. Never makes baskets or anything. I was blasted out of the water for suggesting we need a guy like him. Hopefully we have a guy like him in Godfrey.
By the way Orear was drafted in the 13th round of the MLB draft. Kid is a good thrower. Nice curve from what I hear.

I feel this way about John Shurna, weirdest looking shot ever but it works. I also hated Aldrich's shot.

Shurna looks like the biggest dork to ever step on the floor. But he has a good game. When he drove to the basket and dunked on Creighton I was honestly stunned by his skills. I always knew he was a good shooter I just never imagined he had that in him.

Cole Aldrich's mechanics at Kansas were terrrrrrible. It was so frustrating to watch him do well, and then watch him gloat about it running down the floor.

1. Mullet
2. Tattoos
3. Ugly face
Key attributes for a mean basketball player. In all seriousness, the kid plays with passion, and thats what makes him tough IMO.

He's the player you love to have on your team, and you ******* hate if he's playing against you.

Maybe he wants people to dislike him, hes just having fun.
PS I hate terrorists, not basketball players who play hard.

Sounds like he has Steve Nash disease....
Re: Best compliment I can give - I hate O'Rear
All I know is that the kid knows how to party after a W.. I go to UNI and I chatted with him @ a local establishment as he slammed multiple shots down, that he obviously didn't pay for..
Hes a pretty cool guy and I love the way he plays and I wish we had a Luke-O on our team..
Re: Best compliment I can give - I hate O'Rear
My uncle Ron played for Norm Stewart at UNI back in the 60's. Ron is a self proclaimed big ugly dude who never scored many points but rebounded, disrupted the opposition and fouled people a lot. Seems that UNI has some tradition with that type of player.

He is a grinder...all good teams will have one.
