Re: Great game and love Scotty but...
The whole team needs to make free throws. That is the easiest points that you will get. It also makes winning a lot easier.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Great game and love Scotty but...
this isn't the right forum for this but i don't feel like bringing another one back. Here in Denver the Iowa and Iowa State kids all kind of hang out together, bc so and so knows so and so from whatever town. So wife and I show up late and another ISU couple show up late to some party and all the Iowa people are like "what took you so long"
Had no idea we were playing basketball. Why? Bc they are all Iowa grads and cheer for UNI basketball. I hate them so much.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

But I think he should get a spray tan.

Re: Great game and love Scotty but...
we are ranked 196th in free throw shooting at 67.2% NCAA average at this point is 68.1.
I still remember Scott being automatic from the free throw line in the past. I will gladly trade a little there for his 3's though.

Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd -

Regardless of how well he is shooting from the floor, it is still no excuse for him not making free throws.
The ISU team is the reason ISU won. Even more plain and even way more simple.

Free throws win basketball games. He's 0/4 on free throws to put away games. That's very concerning.

Just be happy how so many things went right, after all look how many minutes they played and how hard they ran the fast breaks, Scotty 40 min Garrett 38 min Jake 37 min Ejim about the same. They played long and hard Iowa players were mostly down around 30 min and yet our guys were going strong yet at the end and on Iowas floor.

We are well conditioned, You'll get that with guard dominated teams.

In those situations, he should step back behind the three-point line and drain them.

Some friends were over watching the game with us. When Scotty got fouled at the end of the game one of our friends said "He's a pretty good freethrow shooter, isn't he?" I replied that yes, he is, but he struggles at the end of games. I had a pretty good feeling that they weren't both going in.
It's a valid concern, not a complaint. I'm sure the coaching staff is working on the mental aspect of FT shooting at the end of games.
The kid had a great game, though.
