Drake was Lucca's NBA Finals, his All-Star Game, and he was confused enough, his Super Bowl. He always got up for Drake.

Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
Scott can put it on the deck just well enough to keep his defender's honest - which is critical, and something Lucca couldn't do... or, something McDermott didn't want him to do.
I'll ask this again, Where are the people who think Scott doesn't start next year??? Blows my mind, those people they do.

Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
Scott will get his shot playing professional basketball. I don't know about NBA but great shooters are hard to come by. This kid is un-guardable when he is on. His career averages tell us these types of games aren't flukes they are the norm for him to shoot this well. I think his defense is above average in the big 12, this has yet to be seen but we'll know ina bout a month. He reminds me of the good Korver's.

Next year:
1: Allen
2: Christophersen
3: Ejim/ Babb
4: White
5: Booker

I just don't think Allen is a PG... next year will be VERY interesting when it comes to minutes in the backcourt.

It's not just one knee, he's got knee issues with both. He has to ice the hell out of them after all the games.

McGee, Allen, and Christopherson figure to play 25-30 minutes, which leaves 30ish to split between Babb, Sledge, Bubu and Phillips. I'm guessing that most of that goes to Babb.
I figure that the frontcourt rotation kind of ends up with Ejim rotating between the 3 and the 4. Obviously, Royce White plays a lot, and then Booker, Godfrey and Railey split the rest.
Next year should actually work out pretty nicely, I think.

I'll ask this again, Where are the people who think Scott doesn't start next year??? Blows my mind, those people they do. Its definitely going to be an interesting battle. Chances are, either Chris Allen or Scotty is going to be coming off the bench. Kinda crazy to imagine. Neither one is really a PG, and that will be McGee. Cant really go with a 3 guard line-up when you have Ejim at the 3. Unless you make Ejim come off the bench and I cant imagine that happening either. Going to be interesting next year.

I don't think Scott will start.
That being said, anybody that strokes it like that will get plenty of PT, so what difference does it make?

Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
For harmony on the team, I think Scotty coming off the bench would be the smart play. I can see him having a good attitude about it. I dont think Allen, who started for Michigan State, came to Iowa State to come off the bench. I cant see him having a good attitude about that. Starting Allen and getting Scotty plenty of minutes is probably the smart play.

A senior w/ 2 yrs starting experience who can go off for 20 - 30 on any given night, the best returning scorer, and you don't want to start him? Nuts I tell you.... But who knows, you could be right... we'll have to see.
If I had to guess, I would say:
PG: McGee
SG: Allen
SG: Christopherson
SF: Ejim
PF: White
That puts your (likely) four best scorers on the floor. PG is a bit of Q, but I think as a Juco, McGee is likely. I know Ejim is slightly out of position at the "4", but if that lets us get our best players on the floor, so be it. He seems to be doing fine there so far this year.
The great part is that we should have some flexibility - I'm sure Allen could handle the point if we need him to, and we can go w/ a larger lineup as well, moving Ejim to 3, and inserting Booker, Godfrey, Railey, etc.
In summary, I just can't see why you would put a shooter like Scott on the bench. You want a guy like that on the floor. He needs 30+ mins.

Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
We have had all sorts of guys come in that were hyped as great shooters. Scott is the first in a long time that really is a GREAT shooter and pretty good all around player to boot. Damn his shot is pretty. Awesome that we have him for another year.
