Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
There's more to the game than shooting.
Allen and Babb are lockdown defenders who also shoot the longball well.
You're telling me they are going to sit because of some sense of seniority?
Fred and Lutz know better than that.
There's plenty of floor time available especially in 3 guard looks but they are not going to sit good defensive players.
Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
I don't see any scenario where Allen & White don't start next year....the both of them are just too good. Since Allen is not really a pg, some combination of McGee/Sledge maybe even Odunsi will see the minutes. That leaves two starting slots, so yeah, its a real possibility that Scotty won't start next year, but what difference does it make? He'll still play major minutes. If he does come off the bench, what a luxury that will be.

Lucca was a great shooter...just sucked at everything else.

I agree wholeheartedly, Babb & Allen are known defensive quantities. I really look forward to what we can do defensively with those guys in there.

Yes, there is more to the game than scoring - Scott does all of those things pretty well too.
No, you're missing my point. Scott is a great scorer. From what I can see, Freddy-ball is predicated on scoring - a lot.
If I have to guess, Allen will start (as I have listed in previous thread), and Babb will see plenty of minutes.
Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
PG: McGee
SG: Allen
SG: Christopherson
SF: Ejim
PF: White

Babb isn't a lockdown defender.

Everything I've read says he is.
Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
There are like 5 different lineups I could see going with next year.
McGee
Allen
Ejim
White
Booker
McGee
Allen
Babb
Ejim
Booker
Allen
Babb
Christopherson
Ejim
White
Allen
Christopherson
Ejim
White
Booker
Sledge (natural PG)
Allen
Christopherson
Ejim
White
I could play this game all day long.
Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
We are going to have the strongest backcourt next year since tinsley/horton and co. Then you add in Royce White who is fizer esque. Hot damn, I'm excited.
Re: So......apparently Fred still hasn't run Scotty off the team
They said that Babb was Penn State's best defender, at least what I've read.
I take it to mean that he is a good defender, no doubt. If he isn't a lockdown guy already, he can possibly (probably?) get to that level.
Right now, Scott will be the proven commodity coming in, so he has to have an advantage. So is Allen, so he needs one as well.
That's not a knock on Babb. I'm thrilled that he's a Cyclone. He's part of a very deep and talented guard rotation next year. It all depends on going out and earning the minutes.

I'll ask this again, Where are the people who think Scott doesn't start next year??? Blows my mind, those people they do.
I remember Lucca Lukas driving the ball at least three times last year.

That's Tinsley/Horton/Nurse. Don't overlook Mike Nurse . That whole team had incredible chemistry, and all five starters averaged at least 36 minutes. And they were height-challenged, with one of their two forwards being 6'4" Stevie Johnson. I remember when they played KU, the average height of the starters was 5" less than KU.

That looks better.
We could add "over and over."

Figured that after seeing how they worked both knees. rolling, stretching. Amazed me that they worked him, then he came right back in and kept hitting shots.
He was my favorite player last year and still is this year.
