This is lousy. I wonder if TJ was at the game with Menemonee Falls. He could have seen future Cyclone Elgin and one of the top targets for ISU in 2012 JP Tokoto.Quote:

I didn't realize rebounding was one of his strengths. We can always use guys like that, even if the offensive side is still raw.
Elgin should be fine. The academics part kind of worries me.

He will have six weeks to work on academics.
If a kid cant pass at least his first year of college of 100 level classes, he has major academic issues.

The academics situation concerns me with him or any recruit. If you can't take care of business in high school, what are you going to do in college? Hopefully he will get his act together.
TJ is listed as his primary recruiter, and he has been responsible for getting the best recruits we have had of late. He is a very personable guy, and really seems to connect with the kids. I know he is not popular on this board, but TJ will probably be a lot like Scott Drew when he gets his own coaching gig. A guy that connects with kids and seems to always put together elite prospects in his class.Quote:

Prime example of TJ's connection to the area is Elgin. In the box scores I've seen (and that he's been in) he is the primary scorer for a talented team. He had a great game against the top recruit in the area, JP Tokoto. If it weren't for TJ, Elgin wouldn't know what ISU is but now it's very familiar for local recruits.
On Thanksgiving day, the Milwaukee Prep Basketball review was out and on the front page of the Journal sports section was Elgin in an Iowa State shirt. I was pleasantly surprised by the pub.
Considering how much Tokoto has struggled lately, I highly doubt he still has offers from the Dukes/UNCs of the world.
