I'm a high school senior and I live about 15-20 minutes from Iowa City. My friend had an extra ticket and I LOOOOOVE college basketball, so I said sure. I saw a family friend there and was asked 'Came to watch a good team play huh?' and I replied 'Yeah, one'...Trust me guys, I'm ISU all the way. I have an Iowa State skinned phone that I proudly pulled out as often as I could :)

Ohhh, and I'm going to Iowa State next year. And yes, I cheered for Illinois.

It's all good in da hooooood.

Im totally with you here. If nothing else, I am definitely interested in Iowa sports. That way when some Tavernhawk tries to pull some **** on me I can have a good debate with them.

Also, watching a college basketball game is probably one of the most exciting activities that go on during an otherwise boring christmas break. + for free it's a no brainer.

Did U of I look like a solid team? It seems like McCamey has been there forever.

I didn't wear ISU gear because I hate Iowa fans who do the same at ISU games, I think that's just bush league. I did wear a red under armour sweatshirt though, it wasn't like I was wearing Iowa stuff or anything close to it.

And Illinois didn't impress me too much. They made almost all of their threes, I think ended up at 13-18 for the game from deep, but outside of unusually hot shooting, they weren't overly impressive. I will say that Iowa's perimeter defense, or total defense, flat out sucks.

Yeah, that is why I did not ask you to wear a hawk shirt to an ISU game. That would be bush league.
I have no problem wearing an ISU shirt to an Iowa game though.

When I have been to Iowa games in the past with friends (free ticket deal like CloneState) I have dug out an old bright green 4-H shirt from high school. They know your not a Hawk, and you might just be able to pick yourself out in the crowd while the highlights are on the news.

Guess we can agree to disagree but it always makes me mad to see people wearing Hawk gear when ISU is playing Northern Illinois. IMO people just do it to be jerks.

Truthfully, I don't think we could pull that kind of crowd against anyone over break at Hilton. Kudos to Iowa.

If it makes you feel better I get mad when I see any Hawkeye stuff anywhere.
