For us to make either the NIT (most likely) or the NCAA tournament. I guess a CIB would be ok too. This is all in terms of conference play.
Teams we must beat:
-Oklahoma
-Tech
-Colorado and Nebraska both at least once.
I think we could steal one from aTm or OSU and we must upset KU, Missouri, Baylor or KSU.
I think 5-11 or 6-10 will give us a very good shot. This gives us a 17-20 win season.
Let's get ourselves 6 conference wins and then let the chips fall where they may.
Unless, of course, the guys want to win a couple more than that..........
no way we play in the cbi imo, i think they take non bcs schools mostly. i still think the ncaa would take a miracle. nit is looking like a real possibility-win the rest of the games we should-niu, nebbie, colo, ttech at home, and win a couple of toss ups-nebbie/colo rd, and 1 more big 12 win would be 6 conf wins and maybe be enough to get us in...

I'm going to go out on a limb and make a bold statment. It will take ISU continuing to win games.
6 wins in conference.....19 wins overall.

5-7 wins in conference and not lose in first round of Big 12 tournament.
We aren't going to the NCAAs, but with a decent Big 12 season I think we have a really good chance of being NIT bound.
18-21 wins puts us in the NIT. 22+ puts us in the NCAA's with a upset against one of the big boys. I can really see us making the NIT. NCAA's would be stretch. I also wouldn't count Nebbie as a should win this year. I've watched them and they're playing pretty well.
I'd say win the Big 12 tournament to be on the safe side.....
The fact that the NIT is being openly discussed right now is fun. Hope returns to Cyclone Nation!
