pretty big talk from a high school coach in long island. love the upside in a recruit like sledge - he's going to be great pushing the ball.

I see a lot of Will Blalock in Tavon and Will was probably the second best true point gaurd at Iowa State behind Tinsley.

I really like what I'm hearing. But, as always, we won't know how good he really is until he suits up. "Tricky" Ricky Morgan comes to mind.

Re: Hoops Recruiting Update: Coach sees growth in Tavon Sledge

The quote that impressed me the most was that he was the will to win. That will go miles for him and is the type of player I love.
Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd

Ever since we signed him, he's been my favorite to be the starting PG next year. I still hope thats the case.

When I heard the word growth, I thought he meant height. All good things to hear, but his lack of size will limit him to one position on the court.

Me too, he would have gotten plenty of playing time this year.

If he can be like Isiah Thomas at UW I'll be happy. :) I'll take Lew Jackson at Purdue as well.

I'm not so sure. If Colvin had stuck around would we have signed Jake Anderson? Would you rather have Colvin than Jake? The transfer that left who would have been the most valuable would have been Hamilton.
