Johnny's looks awesome.
The statue looks so freaking cool!
Wish I had $12500 to get in there:sad:
Looks great! I really like the Big 8 banner.
That would actually be one way I would go to a womens game. If i could sit in the bar and watch games on ESPN!
That sounds amazing. Johnny's is freaking awesome.
This could have made a ton of money as a bar somewhere in Ames open to the public. A Johnny Orr Bar somewhere that looked like that.
Ok I will say it. IMHO it is sad that a place that honors a man who would shake everyone's hand, say hi to you on the street, come to a party on the whim of an invite at a golf outing and treated everyone like you were a long lost friend is not open to everyone. I guess the only consolation is that the statue and display cases are viewable to all.
Is it going to be open other than gamedays? I can see why limited who on a gameday, when you have 12,000 people at the venue and a capacity of maybe 200ish in there it just isn't practical but having some game watches or something open to the public when there isn't an event at Hilton would be kinda cool.
The floor in the place is old State Gyms floor too.
I don't have enough money to get in! WAAAAAHHHHHHH
Jamie Pollard only caters to rich donors! WAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
I only get to see the statue! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH
It blows my mind how many of our fans want something for nothing. I can't give enough $ to get into Johnny's and I likely never will. Don't care. This is an awesome addition to Hilton and a great perk for those who support ISU athletics at such a high level.
What a special deal. It truely is about time and I'm glad something finally was done before we didn't get the chnce to properly thank him for all of his greatness he brought to our school. In my mind this is anything but short of needed to be a state holiday to celebrate this.
Not nearly as nice as his old place inside the old Holiday Inn, next to Hickory Park.
