Godfrey
What are others thoughts on him?
I think he has so much talent but is very raw. If he can figure out how the play the game the right way he should be a good player. Right now it is like he doesnt know where he fits in. Just not sure if I have him pegged right yet.

Re: Godfrey
he gives effort and same with Railey.....Could not say the same for players under the GMac regime

Re: Godfrey
My biggest concern with him is academics. If he keeps on the books, I think he'll develop nicely.
He has such a good frame...broad shoulders that will take the adding on of muscle. Yet he's agile and can get out and run. When he puts on that muscle and uses it for post defense, he'll be tough. We haven't seen much from him on the offensive end, so there's not much to go on there.

Re: Godfrey
I think he needs to play with more control. He seems to let his body fly a little more then he should and the refs seem not to like it. Other than that, for a freshmen i like where he can go and I've noticed that he has more body control now then he did from the beginning of the season.

Re: Godfrey
He has a really high ceiling. Get more under control, physically and emotionally, and he could be something special.

Re: Godfrey
I love Godfrey. Struggled a little tonight but he is going to be huge for us while he's here. Just needs to develop some sort of post game.

Re: Godfrey
Lots of energy, if he can control that and get into the flow of the offense and play smarter on D, he will be a beast.

Re: Godfrey
I think him and Railey are going to be very good. They both are a little more skilled then i thought they would be, and both were not intimidated in the least by the Morris twins. I loved when Railey got agressive with Marcus after he swung the elbow. Most freshman would have just backed off.

Re: Godfrey
A very high ceiling. Honestly I think he's just a little overwhelmed right now. It will come. Same thing with Railey except a little different skillset.

Re: Godfrey
Railey showed a nice 15 foot jumper tonight.

Calvin and Railey have a bright future.
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."

Re: Godfrey
I like Calvin. He was whistled a LOT tonight, and a few of them were suspect to me.

Re: Godfrey
Godgrey's got a lot of potential and he works hard, but he's still got a long ways to go and he's undersized for his position.
He had a really nice block with 38 seconds to go, but of course a Morris is waiting to clean it up & one.....that's kind of how the night went - we'd make a play and they'd follow w/ 2 or 3 plays.

Re: Godfrey
I agree with lots of the above. He's raw and does tend to not always have complete control of his body, but his effort and desire are obvious and I think that's going to serve him well. He may never be more than a dunker, but a solid post defender would be good enough with those dunks. I've noticed a lot of improvement in his control and "knowing his limits" since the start of the season.
I used to notice it seemed like about EVERY time down the court he thought they should throw him the 'oop (and it never happened)...then he kinda looked like he was pouting. I saw him on campus and asked him about it and he said, "Man, they tell us to run, run, run and they never throw it to me." (we were joking about it, but he reminded me of a little kid the way he said it)
I think his future is bright and as Coach always says, him in the game does increase the energy of others.
