Personally from out of state, I was very happy wih both the team and the students tonight. They showed up and gave it 100% and kept us close to the end with a Top 5 team.
The way it was in the 80-90's in Hilton is not coming back. Hilton can stil be great but it won't ever be on that level again. It isn't anyon's fault really. That was just a unique set of circumstances that came together at exactly the right time and right place to create a truely unique place. There are many many things different now that prevent that from happening on a sustainted basis, many of which have been dicussed at length on this board.
If CA is the same as it was when I was in school (graduated 2 years ago), then CA is only the parquet and lower. Students not in CA get the balcony on the east side, along with the spillover CA. Part of the problem is crappy basketball, but part of it is people who complain about CA and won't spend $25 for it. Then these people can't sit in the parquet. In my opinion, what they should do is, just add a few bucks to the season tickets and make that the cost for CA. That way EVERYONE is in cyclone alley, and honestly, the student tickets are cheap anyway.
Also, I think the two end sections should be taken away from the students until they prove they will actually show up to the games. To have 300 people not even pick up tickets is insane.
They looked great on TV
