My only complaint is Scott C. right now. I cringe everytime he touches the ball unless he is shooting a 3. I get why he stays out there since a defender will not leave him to risk the 3 so it's one less person that's in the way, but his defense is bad, his drive is very suspect and his passing needs a lot of help. All and all, i loved that we were able to make it a game. Go Cyclones!

Honestly, I was disappointed in the turnout last night. With Kansas and Johnny in the house, last night should have been a sellout. There's absolutely no reason why every single seat in Hilton wasn't filled. If I made the 5 hour round trip, no one else can make excuses for not attending.

I watched Johnny win at Hilton with skinny, 6'4" Ron Virgil playing "power" forward. Johnny never had the talent of the Kansas or Missour squads of the '80's--but Danny Manning went winless in Hilrton.

Lots of people seem to think that the crowd is simply there to feed off the energy of the players. This is a misapprehension. It is a mutual, almost symbiotic relationship. The players help the crowd rise to the occasion, certainly, but I have been there to see the Hilton crowd help the players rise to greater heights--including one game when Lafester Rhodes was absolutely unconscious.

For those of you relative "youngsters", that is what Hilton Magic was all about. Even as a fan, you don't just sit back and wait for it to happen. You make it happen!

I'd rate Scott C's job at defending the perimeter quite a ways above any of our interior defenders, although Ejim and Godfrey are learning quick. He's not Gary Payton but I've never seen him as the weakness of our defense this year. No knock against Jake Sullivan because he was one of my favorite Cyclones, but as a shooting specialist I think Scotty has a more well rounded game than Jake did in terms of ball handling, penetration and defense.

Creighton got a lot of open looks, but any other time we've struggled this year it's been down low (UNI, Cal, Nebraska, even Iowa). I am no basketball analyst, but my guess is last night Hoiberg and Lutz were fine giving up some open looks because of the epic mismatch in the paint.

When Johnny Orr is getting honored the same night #3 Kansas comes to town, where else should Iowa State fans be?

Agreed. We just showed the whole country that we can play ball, and were not a joke. This loss makes us one step closer to a better brighter future. This game just proved we can play with just about anyone. For those who criticize the crowd not being loud enough on TV, well maybe you should get off your *** and come. You guys have no reason to be bashing the fans that came.

Now lets go beat Baylor!

Watching warm-ups it was obvious that Scotty isn't 100%. For us to hang with #3 Kansas without a big game from Scotty took an outstanding effort, especially when KU had us on the ropes several times and we kept coming back. We have to hit a lot of 3's to beat real good teams, and we're not going to do that without Scotty getting a chunk of them. I think he had 1 last night.

Speaking of warm ups, the team didn't make a single jump shot while warming up for the second half.

As much as I love ISU basketball, there is this thing called MY LIFE that kinda gets in the way of attending all the games. So you made the game, good for you. I don't always have the opportunity to schedule MY LIFE around ISU sporting events. Guess I could be kinda selfish like that.

With their previously scheduled plans. Could be a funeral, a child's sporting event, etc etc.. They should be where they said they would be. Now, if every ISU basketball fan decided to show up at Hilton last night because that is where they should be, do you violate all safety codes and let in hundreds of thousands of people? Sounds like a logistical nightmare. Again, way to be the SUPERFAN that you are and make the trip. You obviously need the pat on the back, for the one you gave yourself isn't looking sufficient enough.
