Best play of the game....IMHO
Was the hard foul under the basket in the second half by I think Ejim. While we can't afford a lot of fouls because of depth, it you do foul make it a good one. I long for the days of Homan where every opposing player knew that if you take it down low he will make you pay.
Nice to see a good hard nosed foul. I don't want to see anyone hurt, just make them remember what happens when you take it down low.
CFH has us heading in the right direction!
Just my opinion... -
Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
I said the exact same thing after that play.

Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
I was happy about it. If they're going to call touch fouls anyway, you might as well get your money's worth and give them something to think about.

Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
I wish we had more players just for the sole purpose of hacking at some bigs. I'm not saying we send in the goon, but it is possible to foul a team out of rhythm. Ask Tim Floyd about this strategy if you ever get the chance.

Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
That was a great foul. I really liked that play when Railey hustled and tipped that ball back to save the posession.

Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
Loved that foul, seemed like every foul up to that point was a touch foul and not a second thought foul. Ejim's was a think twice foul due to hard hustle and play, not malicious.

Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
Hustle play, no easy buckets. Ejim had a rather silent night, but as always he makes one or two plays that are like wow.

Re: Best play of the game....IMHO
Ejim is all over the floor. That guy has learned to bust his *** on the floor. That on top of his skill set will make him a star here.

imagine if colvin had shown up in ames with the effort and intensity that ejim has. we have a great group of young men out there. not sure if it's all the coaching, or all the guys, probably 50/50 of both, but we should all be proud of the effort they are bringing. i didn't know if we'd win 13 games all year, and here we are hanging with the #3 team in the country. unbelievable.

KU was missing enough free throws I wondered about putting a bench guy out there to foul, but then i realized that other than Godfrey our bench players might not even be strong enough or skilled enough to foul without giving up 3 point play opportunities. Those Morris twins are beasts and could easily score through a weak foul.

Its so frustrating when he dives all over the floor for a loose ball, but doesn't get it. Then Kansas has a break and hits a 3-pointer to end a run. Just tough luck, I guess. But if we keep playing as hard as we did last night, we will start to get some luck our way.

People keep asking how the game was close given the free throw disparity. The answer is hustle plays like that (even though that one didn't work quite a few others did) and KU not being to great at the line.
Ejim's block/hard foul cost KU one point, that was a dunk turned into one point by his hustle.

CFH has us heading in the right direction! Exactly who i thought of after that play. Even the 'walk away' with a ****** off look that Ejim had reminded me a lot of Homan's attitude. Dude was a force down low.
You cant say p!ssed??!?! C'mon!
