I agree, I thought be he and Godfrey did great. They are in there to hustle, rebound and defend and I thought both of them did a terrific job of it. None of their fouls were "dumb" (Godfrey's offensive fouls were BS, but the refs in general were poor both ways) and I think they both played worth while minutes.
I'm glad we have those two to do the "dirty work" otherwise JVB would foul out in 10 minutes and we need him on the floor as an offensive weapon.
I find this interesting that although we seemed to be playing with fould trouble it wasn't till under 1:00 left in the 2nd half that KU made it to the bonus (in fact we had to foul several times to get there). We had 22 fouls and they had 31 FT. Lots of fouls in the act of shooting (especially when you take away Godfrey's two and the intentional fouls to get to the bonus at the end of the game)
Hats off to Fred in company for a great game plan and great coaching to keep our players from fouling out (exception Godfrey) but being agressive with the ball. Great things are to come!
I think it was all he could do to keep from getting ran over by the Morris twins. They are extremely strong, and basically move where they want to move, whether you are in the way or not. Kind of like watching Fizer under the basket, except much less fun when it's being done to you.
Related subject. Should JVB take more than one charge a game? He let people roar by 4-5 timers last night to avoid a foul, but he was not in the perfect place as they always went to their right and scored.
