"Some" nice words from KU fans

Was just trolling their site and found this thread, despite the title a lot of them actually give some nice comments about us.

"I respect ISU fans more than any other B12 school's. They travel. They're not dumb. Their teams have been great at times and the fans stick with them even in the down years."

The most interesting B12 game of the year might be Kansas at Colorado. Who knew?

I hate all KU fans. Even when they are attempting to say something nice they come off as arrogant ********.

Too bad we had some fat slob chant "Rock Chalk" by himself in 204 and continued to "try" and berate us as he walked out with five seconds to go. Then flipped us all off when he was speechless to the taunts he got back. I'll never understand some people.

Re: "Some" nice words from KU fans

I don't understand where some of you are seeing insults here. There are two or three people that were ******, but most were overly nice. Saying we're great fans even though we've had down years (we have), wanting us to get back to the top, people saying they think Hoiberg is really going to turn it around and even someone commenting on how nice Hilton looked despite the massive flooding not too long ago.

Quit being so petty, guys. Most KU fans I've met have been ******, so I thought it was refreshing to see such nice things said about us on a KU board.

I know many KU fans and were by some last night. All respectful and had thier own little fun cheering on thier team. Rock Chalk Jayhawk is thier chant...so what They made the contribution to come out to the game they have the right to cheer them on.

Go Cyclones! You bet I cheer them on when I go to road games.

Re: "Some" nice words from KU fans

I wonder if "mjl" in dsm's friends know that he thinks a great deal of Iowans are stupid and annoying. That would make him real popular in the workplace.

Just my opinion, but the rock chalk chant is VERY insulting in someone else's building. There's really no reason for it except to call attention to yourself and rub it in. I will eventually end up punching one of their fans one of these years. Luckily, I should be able to leave the brass knuckles at home next winter because ISU will win and shut those idiots up.

Re: "Some" nice words from KU fans

Now first off rock chalk annoys the hell out of me too. That being said if they are doing it we lost, it should be fuel to our fire to get better.

Those that are saying it's rude and unacceptable to do it in another schools venue did you say the same thing last year when cyclone alley did the "Cyclone Power" chant at the men's game in lincoln last year? or the womens game at Iowa this year? How about if we ever were taking iowa behind the wood shed in kinnick and our fans did it there?

Re: "Some" nice words from KU fans

There is only one way to not hear rock chalk. Beat them.

I used to coach some Pop Warner football and we beat this particular team pretty good and afterwards the coach and a group of parents started whining about me promoting poor sportsmanship by running up the score.
I stole a line from prime time and said to the coach "I can't believe you call yourself a football coach and never taught your kids to tackle."

Stop whining and do your part to make sure they don't ever do that in Hilton again.
