Scott Chrristopherson Injury Update as of Friday (1-14) afternoon
Just got back from MBB practice. Fred Hoiberg referred to Scott Christopherson's elbow injury as a "bone spur" today. The good news is that Scott recently extended the elbow all the way for the first time in weeks. Here are the direct quotes from Hoiberg.
“He is still a little bit inconsistent, when he can follow through and when he can’t. You can see with his shot. In the Nebraska game, he had two air balls and two swishes. He barely touched the rim on his other one. He is going to be a little bit inconsistent here but he can work through it.”
“He is feeling a little better. He was excited in shoot around the other day because he was able to extend it for the first time. There is a little bit of a bone spur in there that is causing pain. I don’t know if he will be 100 percent for the rest of the year but he will go out there to give it all he’s got. He is a tough kid. Hopefully if he can’t get back to 100 percent, he’ll get as close as possible.”

I am glad he is playing but I hate that his shooting percentage is not going to represent his true skill. Still he adds a lot, even hurt.

Kid is the unluckiest kid in basketball. Why could this not happen to the other side instead of his shooting arm. Mono last year and his freshman year he had some sort of injury at Marquette.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

He is a true competitor and I am proud to say that he is a cyclone

I'm sure Scotty will give it all he's got but if he's not 100% and knocking down 5 or 6 3's, it's going to cost us some wins. It may have already cost us Nebraska and Kansas.

We need him to play right now, whether he's at 50%, 80% or 100% because 50% of Scotty is better than 100% of Bubu.

Perhaps my memory sucks, but I was thinking that bone spurs could be dealt with as very minor surgery. I might be thinking of bone chips though.

Yeah its a minor surgery but it still has something like a month long recovery(if not more) if I'm remembering right. I know Alexi Casilla of the Twins missed June and part of July with it this summer.

Agree Scotty has to play. His 3's are a huge part of our offense and we'll just have to hope he can adjust to the pain and knock in some 3's anyway.

I guess that's kind of good news?
You've got to feel for Scotty......he's had quite the unlucky spell at Iowa State. If anyone deserves a break and an injury that will heal faster it's him.

Scotty has to be the unluckiest Cyclone since Paul Doerrfeld.

I know it seems kinda dumb to say this, but maybe he should cut down his 500 shots a day he takes. I'm sure it didn't help his arm any before he got hurt.

Actually he did after the mono last year. He's said he is practicing smarter not harder, basically.
