A DG Comparison To Anfernee 'Penny" Hardaway
If DG actually reads this thread, I want to thank him for his dedication to ISU BBall and let him know I've become a bigger fan of his each year he's been in the program. He gives 100% and has gotten better every year, but most importantly, he's a true cyclone.
I'm not one to give a player credit if it's not deserved, but I see a lot of similarities b/n DG's game and Penny's game. Both of them are/were tall & skinny for their position and both are/were quick and have/had a pretty sweet handle on the ball. Since DG has gotten some shooting tips from the mayor, he's been "shooting it like he means it" and that's how it needs to be. They don't always fall, but he's been knocking down shots he's never hit before.
Go #10!

That, and Penny was a much better player who had a good NBA career going for a while. I do agree with you on Diante being a true Cyclone and getting better every year especially this season. I'm not knocking Diante, but Penny was a damn good player.

I'm not saying DG has accomplished nearly as much as Penny or that he ever will, but a year ago I didn't see any comparison to a guy like Penny and now I do. I think DG's hard work is paying off and if he can turn some heads this year, who know's?..... Just wanted to give DG some respect, that's all.

I am impressed with DG when he plays 40 minutes and does not seem to look tired or sweat. He can certainly do a lot of different things on the court. He does it all.

Good call - stamina is one of his biggest strengths. DG goes all game and goes the same speed all game. Also, when is the last time DG was injured? He's pretty tough for a skinny PG. :)
