Is Royce White's playstyle similar to Marcus Fizer?
I'm pretty oblivious to Royce White's play, and I was wondering if his playstyle is similar to Fizer's. Both have similar body types it appears. (MF: 6'8" 265 / RW: 6'8" 250) How athletic is he for his size?
Most of his highlights from high school he looks very skinny, and I was wondering if his game has become more physical since then.

I think he will be. Royce is going to be strong on the rebounding and will probably score alot of points. I think Royce will lead our team in scoring next year.

That's kind of what I am expecting. Maybe not the physical brute that Fizer was, but a better perimeter player.

Marcus Fizer career NCAA points scored: 1,830
Royce White career NCAA points scored: 0
I have high hopes for Royce White too, but let's wait till the guy place a game, huh?

if royce is good at rebounding, then no, he won't be like fizer.

I think Royce will be a heck of a player...but let's not go comparing him to a guy that was runner up for NCAA Player of the year, and was the Big 12 player of the year before he plays a minute for us.
That's how players get overhyped, and get unfair expectations put on them.

Like JVB has a style like Dirk Nowitzki.

Royce has a pretty good touch around the hoop. I have seen him shooting 3's and making them with both his left and right hand. Ambidextrous i guess.
Also, he told me that he's gained 8lbs since being here, and that he's been working on his lower body strength mainly. so he's up to 258 now.
But to compare to Fizer being that he hasn't even played yet, is not something i'm willing to do yet.

Most of his highlights from high school he looks very skinny, and I was wondering if his game has become more physical since then. I don't think I'll ever see a more physical big man at ISU than what Fizer was. Marcus had some great back to the basket moves, and since he was usually our 5 man, he was always quicker and more athletic than the other team's 5, so he could also face up and drive to the basket. By his senior year he had extended his range to at least be a threat outside, but I'll always remember him mainly on the block. Oh, and could the big man run in transition!
Now without ever seeing Royce in person, just from what I've read and seen clips of, Royce is more polished in his young career and relies on those skills much more than physical ability that Fizer had. It appears Royce can be more of a face-up big from the get go, but still has some low-post game. He doesn't seem like a slow, plodding big man, so hopefully he can run the court for some easy baskets.
If Royce can be even close to the college players that Fizer, Drew Gooden, Damion James were, then we will be in store for a good season(s). Any other comparisons?

I was wondering if he had physical play like Fizer. (That's what I was assuming.)
Or maybe he plays the post completely different, more athletic and less physical like Brackins.
I am curious.

Can we just hope he is still in the team next year?
