Re: Going to be 100% Honest
Gotta put this one on Hoiberg's lack of experience. He shouldn't have let OK St get so close after going up by ten. Also some big mistakes by the freshman Ejim didn't help them in the end. The big play was the and 1 he gave up. Either take the foul and make him earn the points and the line or let him score. Can't be indecisive in such clutch moments.

I didnt say he did, it just happened to be the only thing I mentioned and probably came off sounding that way. And I'll apologize again if it came off as a DG bash, just frustration of watching us let one slip away. And I agree with you about the rebounding

Re: Going to be 100% Honest
Honestly, I am getting to the point where I am almost in favor of replacing JVB with Godfrey or something. this is probably out of frustration, I don't know. Yeah, JVB gives us another shooter but it feels like he gives up two offensive rebound for every 3 he makes. Now, I know he isn't the only one responsible for rebounding and I know everyone else with the exception of Jake struggles with it too, but he's 7 feet tall and should be more of a factor in there. I also realize the alternatives are all inexperienced players who likely aren't ready but this extreme lack of rebounding is ******* me off. I miss Gilstrap for this reason. I also really wish we had Dendy. We need some energy inside on the defensive end.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

Without him, it's not a game, jus tlike every other close win or loss this year.
I've been comparing the way our idiot fans treat DG to Arnaud for a long time. Very similar and equally stupid.
We lost because everyone made a thousand little mistakes. I think it is pretty damn stupid to pin any win or any loss on any one play or any one player.

yall are gonna be missing dg and arnaud next year just wait till tillers dumb *** shows up behind center.

Re: Going to be 100% Honest
I hate these ******* ridiculous threads that throw x player under the buss. It's simply ********. Win or lose, these players are some of my all time favorites. They play hard and they play to win. They are just as ****** as any of you about tonight. So let’s give them a break and root for an upset at Mizzou this Saturday.
The fact that we are even competitive in a conference game is a minor miracle. We returned less than 70% of our scoring and rebounding from last year. We have a head coach without ANY coaching experience. We have seven functional players, two of them are true freshman and one of them is an overachieving walk on. What does everyone really expect? !!!
These guys are playing their ***** off and performing at a higher level than anyone thought possible. While we didn't have half the talent OSU had on the floor, we were clearly the better TEAM. Props to everyone in the program for making ISU respectable again. No one is taking us lightly anymore.

Re: Going to be 100% Honest
All you can ask for is for them to go out and leave it all on the floor and when DG plays the whole game i don't know how much more you can ask for. Yeah he made a mistake with the charge but he also kept us in the game. This team is 7 deep and most teams they played and will play 9 to 10 deep. They have made this a good season and fun to watch. They have been in every game and needless to say we do have a coach with no experience at all.

Can't ask the man to be something completely different than what makes him good. We've tried that sort of thing before, and it hasn't worked yet.

Re: Going to be 100% Honest
thats as good as it gets, Fred won't let them get away in the furture

Re: Going to be 100% Honest
OSU's offensive rebounding killed us plain and simple. DG was fighting a double team the whole game and still made crutial plays to keep us in the game. What do you want from him???

Have you been kicked in the head by a horse lately? How can your memory be so bad of the past 5 years of ISU basketball? FH came into this job after all the major recruiting for the year was past, he lost 75% of last years scoring, he red-shirted his 3 or 4 of his best recruits because they were transfers. He is 1 win away from passing last years win total and we are in the first 2 weeks of conference play. The past 5 years ISU would have been done by halftime, should have they won last night - sure, but they made some mistakes......maybe if Greg McDermott would have had these players in opportunities to win the past half decade, they would have been able to rise to the occassion. However these kids are tasting their first success in years, it will take them time to learn how to pull these games out on the road.
Relax, for the first time in a decade ISU is actually competitive on the road. Its fun, enjoy it.
