ball has to leave the hand before contact is made...it was actually a good call.

Does anyone else thinks it's BS that you can have an offensive foul in the process of scoring a basket, and the basket still counts so long as you get rid of the ball before you do the actual foul?

EDIT: I accept that's the right call per the rules, but it still seems like a sketchy rule to me.
