It used to be called jump ball, when they actually had to jump for possession. Then it was held ball, when the defender actually had to tie up the ball so that neither player had control. Now it seems that the defender only has to touch the ball for the refs to call alternate possession. A deterioration of the game. Eric Heft is right.
