I know the games over and i dont know if this has been said before but why didn't we call a timeout on the last play of the game? We had one to burn. Instead JV threw up a horrible shot when we could have called a timeout and set up something for SC or something.
Re: The only thing i didn't get about the ksu game
You werent the dude storming out of Hilton literally yelling over and over... "We should have called a timeout". I thought that dude was going to need some serious medication.

I thought the same thing. The highest chance of success, in my mind, would have been to design a play to get Vanderbeken a catch in the area he did, then call a timeout and have 2 seconds to run another play where we don't have to throw a 60 foot pass. Live and learn.

That might have been me.
I thought that would be the best strategy. Throw it to half court, call the T.O. and take your chances on an inbounds play from 47 feet instead of 94 feet.
Instead Coach Fred was talking about how they considered it but it would only have left like 1.7 seconds and then all you can do is lob it up. Ah, no. You can actually catch, take a dribble, and shoot.
Either way....great atmosphere, great effort, bad ending.

In the post game show Fred basically said that they trusted their play they had drawn up and that JVB was looking for DG streaking to the corner. Which, from memory, appeared to be open but the pass wasn't made for whatever reason (may not have had enough time for it anyway).

He had more than enough time and he should have went to him. Even better though would have been Jake WIDE OPEN under the hoop. Easy two.
