Mark Miller of WisSports.net tweets that Elgin Cook is currently in Texas living with his father...

Re: Elgin Cook Update from Milwaukee Journal
So hopefully he is going to graduate at his new high school (if he has one yet) and still be apart of our 2011 recruiting class. I've been really excited for Elgin. He could be very very fun to watch.

Frankly I am hoping that he will be a part of our 2011 class rather than apart (away from it).

We are very good family friends with Coach Diener and any player that leaves his program, leaves for a reason other than his coaching ability. He is one of the best coaches the state has to offer going back to his time at Milwaukee Vincent and now Hamilton.
I am sure many know that Cook's dad Alvin Robertson played in the NBA with the Bucks so he has the blood lines to prosper. His mom pulled him out because of the shooting situation, especially if he was a target. Look, Milwaukee is always in the top 30 in toughest cities in the country and their is a lot of rough area(s) in the inner city. MPS worst school district in the country for graduation, grades etc. It is a cycle. It is too bad, but there is a lot of talent in the area if they can graduate and move on. Diener, lost a couple D-1 commits early this year because they wanted to go to Prep School to get out of Milwaukee. I will tell you this, I hope Cook stays committed because he is the real deal. 6-6 lanky and can jump out of the gym. Good shot as well...needs a little work, but he can star at Iowa State. If he does have to go to Juco....Hoiberg will honor his scholarship again. Also, keep an eye for future Milwaukee talent with the Iowa State connection. Diener starts 3 freshman all 6-5 this year and they will be big time by their Senior Year, especially this kid, Kevon Looney. A lot of other talent in the area is looking at ISU as well.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I hope Cook makes it here, Im very excited about his game.

Re: Elgin Cook Update from Milwaukee Journal
I've been waiting to see him and those dreads in an Iowa State uniform, hes gonna be here!
Re: Elgin Cook Update from Milwaukee Journal
Definitely not good. if fred is the man i think he is he should not allow this kid to wear an isu uniform. this is his second violation and he sounds like a headcase. not to mention the fact that he sucks in school. he has been suspended due to grades. its wisconsin for gods sake this kid cant maintain a c minus average. tell that to ankeny, johnston, urbandale, and west desmoines kids who get 3.5 honor society and still cant get an acedemic schollie to go to college cuz of the competition.

I don't want to be rude, but I don't think you have clue what you're talking about.

What does this have to do with Cook playing basketball at Iowa St?
If Cook is eligible to play college basketball (and Fred is the man we know he is), he will honor his commitment to Cook.
If the move hurts Cook's eligibility, CFH should (and likely will) help Cook go somewhere that will allow him to become eligible at a later date.

The truth does hurt..you're just not very smart..I'll take Fred's judge of character over yours anyday. Because he may not be doing very good in high school makes him a bad person? Don't think so.
Re: Elgin Cook Update from Milwaukee Journal
this kid cant stay out of trouble in high school how is he gonna do it in college. nobody knows this kid by heart but if he were getting drafted, pretty sure nba teams would look at his track record ( and its sad to say that he already has one). He may be a great player but isu wants that with good character. all i am saying is if nba and nfl teams look at paying a guy millions of dollars they want to know if hes a good guy, why should college coaches do that too? We arent wasting money but we are wasting scholarships

Many good kids move and/or have below average grades at some point.
You clearly are not familiar with the NBA and NFL. Can you give an example of where a kid was not drafted for moving or having sub-par grades at some point in their high school careers or even college years?
