I don't recall this but I'll take your word for it. However, to say anyone dug Chris Colvin's grave for him is simply wrong. Is it the arresting officer's fault Railey is getting charged with OWI? Both are adults and want to be treated as such but one didn't take accountability for his actions.

22's argument isn't perfect, but he makes a good point worth considering. Greg was in the aftermath of that Duke debacle, the season was spinning out of control (at least a little), and someone had to be the one blamed. He's always managed to keep that blame from himself.

What Chris did was wrong, but he was 18. Guys that age aren't always known for mature decision-making.

Again, I have never said Colvin is blameless. But I do 100% believe he got a very, very raw deal. Players have done far worse than Chris and have been treated much better by their university and fans.

You are off your rocker regarding Colvin. The Duke game incident was not isolated. Colvin consistently dogged it in practice throughout the season and he was a bad teammate. There was a reason Fred made no attempt to keep him on the squad after he replaced GMac.

Probably the same reason he recruited Chris Allen and now Korie Lucious, right?

If you can prove that Allen and Lucious dogged it in practices and were constant disruptive influences like Colvin was last season, then you may have a point. Also, Colvin's talent/skill wasn't worth the hassle for Fred.

It was Pollards decision to not let Colvin back on the team, not Fred's.

Did not know that, good move by JP. He likely saw firsthand Colvin dogging it at practice.

    Did you firsthand see it?

Izzo kicked Allen off the team, and said it was a "team decision". I dunno about you, but if your team doesn't want you playing with them, there's something going in.

    Lucious was kicked out mid-season.

White was let go after a few run-ins with the law.

And now you get high-and mighty with Colvin?

Come on man, let it go. I have absolutely NO problem with any of these guys playing for ISU. I have no problem with Iowa recruiting guys like that either. We've seen what happens when the nice guys get to play ball... they lose. I'm ready for some rough players who are willing to give it their all, and have the talent to win.

Oh good lord....Greg did everything to try and keep Chris happy. The team fractured last year, in part, due to the fact that no one liked Colvin.

He's gone. Why do we care about them anymore.

    I don't believe this for a second.

I'm calling BS on this. Since when does and AD have a say on who gets to be on the team and who doesn't? Pollard may have had a conversation or two about it, but it wasn't ultimately his decision to not let Colvin back.

No, I did not see it firsthand. A friend did and relayed the info to me. If it was JP's decision to not let Colvin back, I'm sure he was well aware of Colvin's practice antics, too. And my original point regarding Colvin was that his situation was not at all the same as Railey's one-time mistake.
