Scotty will get a lot more looks next year when we have a real inside presence. Right now teams know that if they can shut him down we probably won't be able to compete, so they can focus on making sure he doesn't get many open looks.

I bet we win 4 or 5 of these close games we've been in if Royce were eligible this year. Still not nearly good enough for the tournament but a lot better than being in last place in the Big XII.

I guess. These last 7-8 (I don't even know anymore) games have me frustrated. If we could have jsut beatin Oklahoma State when we were up 15, we probably would be up with Colorado in the rankings. We would have had the confidence to beat these teams when we got down to the last minutes. We need to learn how to win. Chris Allen knows how to win, Scotty hasn't proved he does.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
I'm not saying Scotty isn't good, or that our current squad is talentless, but if we want to finish in the top 3-4 in the conference, we need more athleticism.
As I said, Scotty is a pretty good player, but he wouldn't start in the top 1/3 of the conference due to his limited athletic ability. He can't create much offense, and has a hard time defending. If he starts, I'm ok with that, because we'll probably have 2 other more athletic guards staring, but then we'll need a way bigger post presence out of White/Booker than we're getting with Ejim/Godfrey/Railey.
Ejim is pretty promising. He will be very solid in 2011/12, but hopefully we aren't counting on him to carry us. I wouldn't have a problem with Ejim starting either, but he needs to be a 3, so in that case, I can't see Scotty starting.
Godfrey and Railey will be very good players, but I don't see them starting next year, and if one of them does, it means we're likely not getting a lot from either White or Booker. I see these guys being starting caliber in 2012/13 and beyond.

5 more wins puts us at 19 with 4 to go, I would say that would put on on the bubble.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
I don't see how Scotty is one-dimensional. Luca would fit that description perfectly but Scotty does drive to the basket and makes some good plays that way too.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
Before anyone mentions Scott as far as next year, remember HE IS HURT.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
I'm one that think Scotty starts instead of Ejim or Babb.
I still like CA, TM, SC, CG, RW.

I think we'll see something like this. Possible Melvin over Godfrey.

If Royce plays like Godfrey, I would like to watch a lineup with both of them.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
People underestimate scotts game. He's a solid player, he obviously can shoot and by the time next year comes knowing his work ethic he will definitely have improved to be a more complete guard! I would be suprised to see him not start next year.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
EPIC FAILED POST
This team is pretty good. One Post presence away from being in the top half of the Big 12. Plus the effort they put forth makes me excited for years to come. 2 Freshman that will have a chance to be starters.

This. His driving ability is pretty solid, yes this was a bit of a rough game for Scotty but they happen to everyone. I fully believe that he will start a fair number of games next year assuming good health.

The same scott that scored 30 against Iowa, scored 20+ in big 12 play what 3 or 4 times? Yeah his shots werent falling today but hes a good player your a idiot
Also Ejim and Godfrey are great players, who else got offensive rebounds today? barely anyone. There both awesome athletes and I'd be fine with either one of them playing big minutes, Railey brings intensity and a chip on his shoulder, he gets ****** off when he gets pushed around and you can tell, JVB just takes it like a little girl
DG had 6 boards. We were still outrebounded by 8 for the game.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
Everybody needs to stop freaking out. The team is tired, we're beaten down, and we're not winning close games. K. I understand. I want the best out of this team just like everybody else, but with what we have to work with, we're doing a pretty darn good job. This team is still fighting for wins, hasen't given up, and is keeping competitive despite everything we don't have.
As far as the starters for next year, the best players will play. Scotty is struggling right now, yes. But it's understandable when teams are game-planning to take away any shot whenever he gets the ball. If shots aren't there, he's not going to force them. Also, he's not one-dimensional by any means. He can handle the ball and drive the paint. He may not be the best, but he's far from a catch-and-shoot kind of player.
ME and CG both could be starters next year. They're both very young and need more experience, but they're going to be solid contributors to games for years to come.
Also, don't forget the Ejim is playing out of position, give him a little slack on that front. he's outsized and is matching opponents with effort. Once he's able to play the 3, he'll be a completely different player.
All I'm asking is for you to take a step back and look at the team and what they're doing as opposed to just being a giant squid of anger.
