I think Godfrey is more important next year than Ejim. We would not be having this discussion if SC, Ejim or Godfrey had been the clear leader. Ejim makes a lot of mistakes. SC cannot shake the defender. Godfrey needs to develop a jumpshot.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Not to bash him, but considering that IIRC, Scott has been injured or ill every year of his college career (back to Marquette), what makes you think he won't also be next season?

Fair enough. But you don't bench a guy cause he could get hurt. It's also tough to justify just sitting one of the most proficient 3 point shooters in the nation.

Scotty..... one-dimensional 3-pt shooter, too slow to defend and give you anything other than set 3's. Hopefully he can give us 10-15 min and some good 3 looks next year.
Ejim/Godfrey/Railey..... should be a pretty good threesome as JR/SR's, but hopefully we don't count on any of these guys to give us more than 20 min/game because they're still a ways out from being able to star in the B12.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
you are crazy... ejim, godfrey, and railey are all going to be good... they are all true freshman that are pretty strong... by the time they are sophs, juniors, and seniors they will dominate the league. and any team in the league would love to have scotty on their team.. he wont need to drive once we add more players.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
This team is limited and 1-11 at this point. Hopefully they can beat neb on their way out and get at least 2 wins this year.
As far as next year, it will be wide open as to who starts. Hopefully, there are good battles in practice which lead to better results next year. I don't see anyone on this team who is a lock to start next year. Please let the transfers be as good as advertised.
I like the effort of this team, but hopefully this season is just a reference to one of the better turnarounds next year.
Re: If more than 1 of our current players are starting next year....
Scotty is 2nd in the conference in 3s. Numbers wise he is going to be one of the best in school history. Put another shooter out there and think of the looks he will get. Dont forget he will be a Sr next year and the only member of the team to play at every arena in the Big 12, his leadership is going to be needed next year.

this team is pretty good? our record indicates otherwise

Having so much talent you don't know who to start is a good problem to have.
It will be interesting to see if Fred goes with seniority or with experience playing this year with the team for the young players or with pure talent. Just for the starting lineup.
For example. Ejim vs Babb, Scotty vs Allen vs McGee,
I think there are two definite locks: Royce starts and Chris Allen starts. Scotty has earned a spot in the lineup as he has played 2 years for the team, but he might be served better as a sixth man who shoots 3s, even though he does bring other scoring capabilities as well.
I think it will be like this:
PG McGee
G Scotty
G Allen
SF babb
PF Royce
Hard to leave Ejim out though, so I could see
PG Mcgee
SG Allen
SF Ejim
PF Babb
C Royce
And in that lineup it is hard to leave out Scotty.
I think everyone will get plenty of minutes though because I anticipate more pressing and even more pushing the ball down the floor. Can't wait for the "line changes" I saw Mizzou do today.
Not to mention the possibility of Booker starting if we go big. I think the biggest thing will be that we will change our starting lineup depending on the type of team we are playing.
