Re: Calvin Godfrey reminds me of....
don't forget about Booker. Our post will improve dramatically next year. On another note, how did you guys like the interior passing between Calvin and Ejim? That was great play and good to see the front line guys looking for each other when the other is double teamed.
Re: Calvin Godfrey reminds me of....
I still think there's a lot of Homan in his game. If he gets that mid-rage jumper, it will be uncanny.

Huh? A top 20 recruit and one of the most skilled 4s to come out of HS? I am sorry, but if Godfrey becomes 1/2 the player that James was that would be great.

I'm hoping Railey becomes our Homan. They have similar size and Homan was also very raw and unpolished as a freshman. Railey also has a nice 10-12 foot jumper and if he can get stronger and smarter inside, he could also become an excellent inside player. The future looks bright.
Re: Calvin Godfrey reminds me of....
When I first saw CG my first thought was Greg Stokes. When Greg was a freshman all the hype was on Michael Payne and he was a much more polished player as a frosh but I saw a lot of raw talent in Stokes, the same talent I see in CG. If he puts in the effort he could be really good. The future is definitely bright for Cyclone MBB.
Re: Calvin Godfrey reminds me of....
You notice that the defensive effort has been better since he's been in there. I'd like him to continue getting lots of minutes even after Jamie gets back. Dude has a Big 12 body. In my opinion he matched up very well with Ratliffe yesterday when he was in there.

If you want to compare Godfrey to a Hawk, it would be Ed Horton, not so much Stokes who was a more fluid, skilled offensive player than Godfrey.
Another poster compared Godfrey to Damion James. James was more of a perimeter player than Godfrey, a better Longhorn comparison would be current Horn Gary Johnson.

As a Senior yeah but as a Frosh Stokes was not yet a fluid skilled offensive player hence the hopeful comparison.

I'm fairly confident he means that TYPE of player. Good lord.
