I want ISU BB to be known as Defense U?

Kelvin Cato type player would be great to have down low. Cato was so raw, but dude would reject your crap everytime you came down the lane, except that UCLA guard that beat us in the Sweet 16. I still have nightmares over that game and how it ended and its been 13 years or so.

Ahh, yes. The Tyus Edney floater. He put that ball about 10 ft above the rim it seemed. Cato did his best to get to it.

My problem with Cato was he never kept the ball in play after a block. It was straight into the stands, which gets the crowd going but also gives it straight back to the opposing team.

As for defense U, we need to do this in order to beat the top teams. i think Fred will get some good talent, but we will never have what Barnes, Self, and Drew work with. I think in order to accomplish this though we need to be playing closer to 10 guys in meaningful minutes. It takes a lot of fresh bodies to keep after the other team on D. The best Ds in the conference are Mizzou and NU, and they do it with a strong rotation of players.

I think we will play an attacking style in both offense and defense. I'd much prefer to watch 90-80 games to 60-50 games. I think that's what we'll see. We just don't have the size and depth to play the defense that we need to play this year, so we've had to try to outscore people, and that hasn't worked out so well.
