While talking about potential players for next year how about Karron Johnson?
According to ESPN, Karron Johnson will not be an OSU Cowboy next year. I know he is good friends with Eric McKnight, and we were recruiting him before he committed. He ran into some trouble at his previous school, but he is a tremendous athlete with a ready-to- play body. One of the best leapers I have seen out of HS based on his film from two years ago.

Re: While talking about potential players for next year how about Karron Johnson?
Karron Johnson, who was considered one of the best junior college basketball players in the nation when he signed with Oklahoma State in November, has returned to Midland (Texas) College for the spring semester. But the 6-8 forward has yet to rejoin Midland's top-20 junior college basketball program after being suspended indefinitely, a member of the Midland coaching staff said earlier this week. Sounds complicated. Can't we just sign normal High schoolers?

I don't know how much the Mcknight connection helps us. Does anyone know if he is truly happy with where he stands at ISU. Most of these players go into a shock mode when they don't get PT their first years because they come from being the best on their High School teams.

Because McKnight will not be here next year.

Doubt he'd be interested in ISU because he'd lose two years of eligibility because of inter-conference transfer rules.

Also, isn't there a rule that players who transfer within the conference have to sit out two years, instead of the normal one?

How about Doug Mcdermmott?

I don't think he would lose 2 years, he's not transferring is he?, it would have been the same with kenneth lynn in football, he shouldn't have to sit out. All he did was decommit

All he did was decommit This. he is coming from a JUCO, he is not officially enrolled at OSU, just signed a letter of intent, which it sounds like OSU will be letting him out of. Don't know all the details, but we were after him before he committed.
And why are people still talking about McKnight transferring. There are enough scholies to go around. He provides great depth, and has the physical ability to be a big time contributor in the future. Stop talking about him leaving.

He truly is just bad news from having run in's with 3 different coaches at 3 different schools. IF Ford won't take him then you know his baggage is heavy

But I would take Tre (Rayavonte) any day. Many people have heard the rumor from the one and only Sportstalk Matt. These rumors appear to be shock jock material, as sources close to Rice say he is happy. He loves Des Moines and Drake, and his mother wants him there.

I dont think we want to get the reputation of signing every player kicked off of other teams. I know we did it last year but we needed to in order to get the kind of talent its going to take to win in the Big 12. Some players deserve a second chance but I dont think we should be the one giving it to everyone. We need to start recruiting HS kids and thinking about the future now that we have a good set of upper classmen and under classmen.

Its not like our entire recruiting class was kicked off their teams. Not trying to pick on you, I've just seen several posts implying all of our transfers were kicked off their past teams and all have major baggage.. but it was just Allen and White who were kicked off their teams.
