It might. But an experienced Final 4 guard, a battle tested Big Ten guard, a 5* post player, and added depth will help ISU next year...
Just saying.

The last time we went far in the tournament, we had Jamaal Tinsley.
He had no Big 12 experience.

Right because with experience at PG we sure are doing great this year...

Hope one of McGee/Sledge/Odunsi/Allen can get the job done.
Not too worried.

Re: 2011-12 Team, lack of experience PG
It'll be tough. Hopefully, the overall increase in talent will help.
I'm very cautious because last year we all thought we would be great with Craig back and we sucked it up almost as bad as we are this year with a hell of a lot more talent.
We'll miss DG for sure.

Re: 2011-12 Team, lack of experience PG
Hey, we're ISU..... likely we'll be very disappointed next year with or without an experienced PG.
With that said, we'll have a heck of a lot more depth, athleticism and talent, so having a PG with not a lot of experience, can be overcome.

Re: 2011-12 Team, lack of experience PG
Tyrus may not have big 12 experience but he's at least got JuCo experience. Also this goes back to the "it doesn't matter who starts" not saying that we could start anybody at point and it wouldn't matter, but we are going to be running multiple ball handlers. Also, I'm not sure experienced is what we need to be looking for as much as clutch.

Re: 2011-12 Team, lack of experience PG
You won't see a true PG in the next few years.
It'll be 2 or 3 guys playing guard with none of them being labeled PG.
What is this lack of experience you speak of?

Re: 2011-12 Team, lack of experience PG
If it comes down to it, Bubu has gotten a lot of experience this year. He lacks scoring, but I think he could distribute the ball and run an offense. If the interior play is good, then we won't need a lot of points from the point so it could work out. But, this is a worst case scenario and I think we all hope that McGee, Allen, or Babb step up and earn the position.
